TITLE OF INVENTION
ADVERTISING DISPLAY SIGN BOARD
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention generally relates to an advertising display sign board, and more particularly to an advertising display sign board having a blurb display unit for displaying a blurb stored in a memory and an image display unit for displaying a fixed advertising sheet.
BACKGROUND ART
The Electric bulletin boards and the flex-using advertisements are mainly occupying the domestic indoor/outdoor advertising market, and there are various advertising media such as posters and other RO.P advertisements. Particularly, as for LED display units, they were mainly used in large-sized planning companies for commercial purposes owing to their high-cost pixels for resolution. However, since element technologies of the LED display units have been developed, general retail shops are increasingly demanding them due to their remarkable cost reduction.
The indoor electric bulletin boards using LEDs have been manufactured to send short messages, and express the short messages for public mformation with moving letters, thereby catching the eyes of customers with excellent advertising efficiency. Moreover, to increase an advertising efficiency and obtain an effective message transmission, full-color electric bulletin boards are widely used to send motion pictures with 3D effects instead of sending simple messages. However, it was unavailable for general retail shops or petty retail shores to use these full-color electric bulletin boards because of their high costs. Therefore, many image board products such as Panaflex were used to convey images shot on the spot with efficiency, but it had difficulty in smoothly publicizing or guiding advertisements with the images only.
Currently, to show publicity booklets in the entrance of shops or lobbies, advertising using image boards is carried out in some cases by employing picture frames or posters. However, there is a problem of the image boards being protruded too much on the wall to spoil the beauty of the interior compared to the size of it. In addition, there should be a certain space for the image boards to use light of a fluorescent lamp, even though the image boards enhance the effect of actual pictures by a reflected light of the florescent lamp with backlight. As a result, supplementary equipment for supporting the image boards should be bigger owing to the protruded image board..
Large-sized display units such as FDT, CRT, organic EL, LCD, and PDP are partially used as full-color display units outdoors. LED products are manufactured as modules instead of a custom-made way, and their representative production type is LDM(LED DOT MATRIX), which is easy to display medium or small displays. However, it is difficult for general retail shops or petty retail stores to use the full-color electric bulletin boards due to high cost.
Also, representative products for billboards communicating images shot on the spot with efficiency are Pana image board products, used for outdoor and indoor purposes, and they are recognized as optimum products for communicating fixed images indoors or at night. To change images shot on the spot, a skilled technician should work out because it is a difficult job for general people to do.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an advertising display sign board simultaneously communicating image displays with blurbs by adopting the benefits of a blurb display unit using an LED and an advertising sheet display unit using lighting equipment.
That is, the present invention provides an advertising display sign board usable while moving as a tool of publicizing events or advertisements, as well as arousing customers' interest by being installed indoors or outdoors of shops.
To accomplish the above object, an advertising display sign board in accordance with the present invention, comprising: a power supply unit; a blurb display unit receiving power from the power supply unit, and displaying blurb data stored in a predetermined memory; an image display unit having at least more than one backlight arranged in a back direction, and emitting light in a front direction by receiving the power from the power unit; and a frame supporting the blurb display unit and the image display unit, having a connection frame opened/closed in a front direction of the image display unit, and having a storage installed in a front direction of the backlight and storing an advertising sign sheet for receiving a light emitted from the backlight with an applied predetermined advertising image to a front side and for displaying the advertising image in a front side.
The blurb display unit includes an LED matrix for displaying blurb data, an LED driver for driving the LED matrix, and a central processor unit for driving the LED driver. It is desirable to have a predetermined input port inputting the blurb data from outside, and to store and update the inputted blurb data in a memory.
The image display unit further includes a light guide panel for equally spreading the light emitted from the backlight, and the backlight is aligned at least one side of the light guide panel.
The image display unit further includes a spread sheet for spreading the light emitted from the backlight in a front direction of the backlight, or further includes a reflecting plate for reflecting the light emitted from the backlight in a back direction of the backlight to a front direction.
The image display unit further includes a driving circuit for driving the backlight and a central processor unit for controlling the driving circuit, and it is desirable to further include a voltage controlling device for controlling brightness of the light emitted from the backlight by controlling the amount of a voltage applied to the backlight under control of the central processor unit.
In addition, the image display unit further includes a predetermined input terminal inputting a control signal for controlling brightnessbrightness of the light of the backlight from outside. The central processor unit inputs the control signal inputted through the input terminal, and controls the brightnessbrightness of the light of the backlight by controlling a voltage applied to the backlight according to the control signal.
It is desirable that the input terminal should be connected to a DIP(Dual Inline Package) switch for selecting and inputting the brightness of the backlight by a user or a brightness detecting sensor for sensing degree of brightness in external environment, or that the input terminal should be an input port connected to a predetermined terminal for inputting the control signal.
An external electrode fluorescent lamp, a cold cathode fluorescent lamp or an LED lamp can be used as the backlight. When using the cold cathode fluorescent lamp as the backlight, the driving circuit includes an inverter, and the LCD driver is used as the driving circuit when the LED lamp is used as the backlight. When the LED lamp is used as the backlight, the image display unit further includes a predetermined input terminal inputting a control signal for controlling a color of the backlight from outside. Then, the central processor unit inputs the control signal inputted through the input terminal, and controls the color of the backlight by controlling the driving circuit according to the control signal.
It is desirable that the input terminal should be connected to a DIP switch for selecting and inputting the color of the backlight by a user, and that the input terminal should be an input port connected to a predetermined terminal for inputting the control signal.
An upper end of the connection frame is fixed by a predetermined connection screw to make a rotating axis, and a predetermined coupling unit is installed in a lower end thereof. Then, the connection frame is vertically opened/closed on the rotating axis.
It is desirable to further include a connection groove connected to a rod- shaped supporting bar in predetermined length on a lower side or a back side of the frame.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION The present invention will be described in detail through preferred embodiments with reference to accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is an external perspective view illustrating a front side of an advertising display sign board in accordance with the present invention. Like shown in FIG. 1, the advertising display sign board in accordance with the present invention has a blurb display unit(lOO) for displaying blurbs by using an LDM(LED Dot Matrix), and an image display unit(200) for displaying an image. The blurb display unit and the image display unit are structurally coupled together by a frame.
The LDM(LED dot matrix) integrates LEDs into pixel units with certain size, and can select them as advertising displays by purposes. It can also manufacture chip types or lamp types in a custom-made way as well as selecting elements. The image display unit(200) can select a backlight for various purposes, and uses a fluorescent lamp, penlight, LED lamp, organic EL, external electrode fluorescent lamp, or cold cathode fluorescent lamp as luminous elements. The frame can be made of stainless, wood, plastics, etc., for various purposes and costs to efficiently couple the blurb display unit(lOO) with the image display unit(200). It is easy to move and install the frame with brightness and stability, and it is possible to include a supporting unit to easily move the frame by people with stands or belts.
When power is applied to the advertising display sign board in accordance with the present invention, the image display unit(200) transmits a light to an image advertisement mounted inside to display the advertisement, and the blurb display unit(lOO) displays a short message related to the advertisement.
The blurb display unit and the image display unit can be separately configured. In this case, the blurb display unit(lOO) should have a driving circuit and a power supply unit independently, and the image display unit(200) should have another power supply unit for driving the backlight. In addition, in the frame structure, a groove is formed to be inserted into the image display unit(200), and the blurb display unit(lOO) is inserted to the groove, or it is available to employ other various coupling ways used when connecting a cassette player with a battery pack.
FIG. 2 is a disassembled perspective view illustrating a front frame of an image display unit in accordance with the present invention. The front frame includes advertisement fixing supporters(230, 240) for easily changing an advertising sign sheet(250) on a front side. A connection frame(220), a supplement frame, connects the advertising sign sheet(250) with a transparent protection cover(240), and has a second screw insertion groove(360b) installed on an extension line of a first screw insertion groove(360a) of an external frame on an upper end, and inserted with a connection screw(370). When the connection frame is coupled with the external frame, the connection frame can be closed on an axis of the extension line of both connection screws by inserting the connection screw(370) to the first screw insertion groove(360a) and the second screw insertion groove(360b), thereby easily changing the advertising sign sheet(250). To change the advertising sign sheet(250), an insertion handle(230) attached to the connection frame(220) is pressed to be separated from a connection groove(120) installed in the frame, and the new advertising sign sheet(250) is inserted to the protection cover(240) with the connection frame being opened, thereby coupling it in a reverse order.
FIG. 3 a and FIG. 3b are perspective views illustrating a front side and a back side of a blurb display unit in accordance with the present invention. Like shown in FIG. 3 a, the blurb display unit(lOO) connects many LDMs(LED Dot Matrixes), and has a transparent protection window(120) on a front side. Like shown in FIG. 3b, many ventilating holes(140) are installed to emit heat generated from an LDM board(llθ) on a back side of the blurb display unit, and a port(130) is formed to receive power or data on a side thereof. However, the back side will be blocked if an AD is installed on the wall, causing the ventilating holes(140) to malfunction. Thus, the ventilating holes should be installed in the side. The blurb display unit is configured with the small number of LDM boards, therefore it is desirable to design the display unit in an air-cooled way of emitting heat by natural air circulation without installing another emission pan for emitting the heat.
FIG. 4 is a disassembled perspective view illustrating an image display unit in accordance with the present invention, illustrating an embodiment of using a CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) as a backlight(330) of an image display unit(200). Various kinds of lighting equipment can be used as the backlight, and it is desirable to use the CCFL, an external electrode fluorescent lamp or an LED lamp as the backlight. An embodiment of using the external electrode fluorescent lamp or the LED lamp can be easily carried out for general experts(hereinafter, 'those skilled in the art') corresponding to the present invention in reference to FIG. 4. Therefore, another drawings and detailed descriptions will be omitted. From now on, an embodiment of using the CCFL will be described. On a back side of the backlight(330), a reflecting sheet is applied to transmit a light even in a small space, and a rear reflecting plate(300) having special wrinkles is installed on the back side. A reflecting sheet is attached to a surface of the rear reflecting plate(300), which is wrinkled to reflect a light in a scattering way, thus preventing the light from concentrating and enhancing a film color of the light.
The backlight(330) is driven by a driving circuit(335), and the CCFL uses a DC when it is employed as the backlight, thereby using an inverter as the driving circuit. The rear reflecting plate(300) for reflecting a light emitted from the backlight is installed on the back side of the backlight(330). A light guide panel(270) for uniformly scattering the light reflected from the reflecting plate or the light emitted from the backlight is installed on a front side. The light guide ρanel(270) seems to be installed in a front direction of the backlight(330) in FIG. 4, in order to easily identify disassembled shapes of each component of the image display unit(200). When the light guide panel is coupled substantially, the backlight is arranged to an upper surface and a lower surface of the light guide panel. So, the light guide panel uniformly spreads the light emitted from the backlight. A spread sheet(260) for spreading the light to a front side of the light guide panel can be installed. The light passing through the spread sheet penetrates an advertising sign sheet as spreading.
Another transparent cover for protecting the advertising sign sheet is installed. The transparent cover should be light and solid by using a transparent film. It is desirable to design the light guide panel(270) having a bigger pattern on a central part from an edge. In addition, it is possible to remarkably improve a film color by increasing reflectivity of the light, by attaching a reflecting sheet(280) to the light guide panel(270).
The light guide panel(270) can be selected from an acrylic product or cotton, and stainless product, etc. The image display unit designed as a slim type enables size changes of a pattern of the light guide panel(270) and a scattered- reflection caused by wrinkles of the rear reflecting plate, in order to uniformly spread the light of the backlight within a small space. Also, the reflecting sheet can be attached to a back side of the light guide panel(270) to generate the scattered- reflection of the light again. Patterns of the light guide panel(270) can be used in various forms such as circles, squares, hexagons, etc., and be made of stainless materials or films.
It is easy to operate the backlight as well as to apply power by installing a power switch(310) and a power plug(320) for supplying the power to the backlight on a side. A fixing instrument for fixing the backlight in a frame unit can be installed.
The light guide panel is a tool for improving a film color of a fluorescent lamp, thereby reducing weight of the light guide panel and installing another light guide devices in each luminant to increase luminance of a light or replacing the light guide panel. When using individual light guide devices, the light guide panel is configured as a semi-cylinder shape to uniformly spreading the light emitted from the backlight, by being installed with certain patterns on the back side of the backlight(330), In this case, it increases reflectivity and reduces component costs compared to a panel-typed light guide panel. FIG. 5a to FIG. 5d are detail drawings illustrating a back side of a frame in accordance with the present invention, illustrating various embodiments of a connector. The frame is coupled with a front frame by a coupling device such as a screw.
Many rings(410) for connecting belts(420) are installed on the back side of the frame, enabling a user to carry them on his or her back for an advertisement.
FIG. 5b illustrates a side view of a first embodiment of an advertising display sign board in accordance with the present invention having belts. FIG. 5c illustrates a lower part of a second embodiment of an advertising display sign board in accordance with the present invention, having a spiral-type hole(430) connected with a triangular desk lamp or a picket in the lower part. FIG. 5d is a side perspective view illustrating a third embodiment of an advertising display sign board in accordance with the present invention, showing a coupled picket bar(440). The triangular desk lamp or the picket bar can be connected in the spiral-type hole(430) installed in the lower part, and it can increase an advertising efficiency by advertising with holding the picket bar in a hand after inserting the picket bar(44). Besides, it is easy to use the sign board as a fixed-type advertising plate on the wall by inserting a groove to a nail driven into the wall after forming the groove in an upper part of the back side of the frame.
FIG. 6 is one embodiment of a circuit diagram used in an AD sign board, one embodiment of the present invention, illustrating an embodiment of driving an LED matrix(560) of a blurb display unit(lOO) and a backlight(330) of an image display unit(200) according to an input signal inputted to a central processor unit(530).
To operate the blurb display unit(lOO), the central processor unit(530) displays blurbs through the LED matrix(560) by driving an LED driver(550) according to blurb data(LED short message data) stored in a first memory(540). The central processor unit(530) inputs blurb data(510) from a predetermined terminal connected through the same input port as RS232C, and stores the data in the first memory. That is, it stores or updates the blurb data in the first memory, which is inputted by a user to input the blurb data or to update the blurb data prestored in the first memory after initially installing the blurb display unit(lOO). The above driving method is an example only, and there can be various driving methods.
Also, to operate the image display unit(200), the central processor unit(530) drives a DMX processor(590), a voltage control device, according to information stored in a second memory(580) by inputting an input signal(570), and operates the backlight(330) by a driving circuit(335).
The input signal(570) is generated or inputted by a DIP switch(572), a brightness detecting sensor(574) or an input port(576).
The DIP switch(572) controls a color and brightness of the backlight(330), and is directly controlled by a user. In FIG. 6, there are seven switches. Among them, four switches set colors of the backlight as red(R), green(G), blue(B), and white(W). The rest three switches control brightness of the backlight. Color controlling switches can freely turn on or off one or many switches. In case of brightness controlling switches, each switch is given 0, 1, and 2 values to control brightness as many as a sum of the values given to turned on switches. When a user operates the DIP switch, a corresponding signal is inputted to the central processor unit(530), and the central processor unit drives the DMX processor in reference to the memory (540).
The brightness detecting sensor(574) senses the degree of brightness in external environment to input the brightness to the central processor unit(530), and the central processor unit controls proper brightness of the backlight in reference to the memory.
In addition, when the input signal(570) is inputted from the input port(576) such as RS232C, an input signal inputted from the terminal connected to the input port, that is a control signal is inputted to the central processor unit(530) to drive the backlight.
The DMX processor(570) controls brightness of the backlight by controlling a voltage inputted to the backlight(330) under control of the central processor unit, and is integratedly configured in the central processor unit. Namely, the central processor unit can perform functions of the DMX processor.
An external electrode fluorescent lamp, a cold cathode fluorescent lamp, and an LED lamp can be used as the backlight(330), and their circuit configurations are different from one another.
When using the cold cathode fluorescent lamp as the backlight, an exclusive inverter should be installed in the driving circuit(335). Also, the cold cathode fluorescent lamp is manufactured by determining its color, therefore it is impossible to change or control the color. As a result, it is unnecessary to have a color controlling switch in the DIP switch(572) when using the cold cathode fluorescent lamp.
When using the LED lamp as the backlight, an inverter doesn't have to be installed in the driving circuit. The LED lamp is an LED bar mounting a pixel lamp combined with red, green, blue, and white lamps on a PC plate, and selectively determines a color by a control signal when brightness is controlled by controlling a voltage in a voltage controlling device.
The central processor unit(530), the LED matrix(560), the backlight(330), and each circuit are supplied with power from a power unit(SMPS: Switch Method Power Supply, 520). The power unit(520) is multi-channel, selecting a maximum capacity power device like: supplying 5V of 220V external power to a controller; supplying 8V to the LED lamp; and supplying 12V to the cold cathode fluorescent lamp.
And, it stably supplies power by converting an AC into a DC with a switching method. It is desirable to use a portable battery for the power unit(520), and it is possible to receive power through an external AC power unit. A power converter is installed to convert the power into a voltage appropriate for driving internal circuit components.
It can also includes a wireless function or a remote function to smoothly input/modify data inputted to memories(540, 580). At this time, when the data is inputted or modified by AD(Advertising Display)-only software installed in connection with a desktop computer or a notebook computer, and the data is transferred by another controller through another data port, the controller sequentially displays the inputted data in determined order. An LDM(Led Dot Matrix) concentrates square-type pixels with high intensity, thereby being installable in a small space owing to easy maintenance and small size of protrusions. An LDM panel is manufactured by determining the number of LDMs in consideration of the size of data and characters to be displayed at a time by connecting the LDMs in a row. The LDMs display a signal of the controller in a specified address, and are connected with a signal cable and a power line. An AD(Advertising Display) made of an LED can be separated from or coupled with the sign board for a specific purpose.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
Like described above, an advertising display sign board of the present invention is easy to install by connecting a battery while advertising outdoors by an event company, thus it is possible to publicize in a place where power supply is not available. Also, publicizing staff can move the present invention by connecting it with belts, or use as a picket.
Particularly, when it is used as a picket for an election, image pictures of candidates with short messages can be advertised. So, it is possible to use at night including daytime, as well as publicizing the election while moving with an attached battery. An AD(Advertising Display) sign image board is appropriate for exhibition halls, on the streets, mobile publicity, nighttime publicity, election publicity, advertisements, and P.O.P(Point Of Purchase) sites.
In addition, the AD sign board communicates text information by giving animation effect to short messages, thereby implementing an event or publicity as complementing image signs. It is also possible to easily move to another place due to its minimum size and weight regardless of places. Especially, it can be employed while publicizing exhibitions with high efficiency, or used as a picket for publicity. The AD(Advertising Display) made of LED and the sign image board can be separated or coupled together for a specific purpose.
This invention may, however, be embodied in different forms and should not be constructed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the invention to those skilled in the art.

Claims

CLAIMSWHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. An advertising display sign board, comprising: a power supply unit; a blurb display unit receiving power by the power supply unit, and displaying blurb data stored in a predetermined memory; an image display unit arranged in an inner back direction, and having at least more than one backlight for emitting light in a front direction by receiving power from the power supply unit; and a frame supporting the blurb display unit and the image display unit, having a connection frame opened/closed in a front direction of the image display unit, and having a storage installed in a front direction of the backlight and storing an advertising sign sheet for receiving a light emitted from the backlight with an applied predetermined advertising image to a front side and for displaying the advertising image in a front side.
2. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the blurb display unit includes an LED matrix for displaying the blurb data, an LED driver for driving the LED matrix, and a central processor unit for driving the LED driver.
3. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the blurb display unit includes a predetermined input port for inputting the blurb data from outside, and stores/updates the blurb data inputted through the input port in the memory.
4. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the image display unit further includes a spread sheet installed in a front direction of the backlight and spreading light emitted from the backlight
5. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the image display unit further includes a reflecting plate installed in a back direction of the backlight, and reflecting the light emitted from the backlight to a front direction.
6. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the image display unit further includes a light guide panel for uniformly spreading the light emitted from the backlight, and the backlight is arranged on at least one side of the light guide panel.
7. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the image display unit further includes a driving circuit for driving the backlight and a central processor unit for controlling the driving circuit.
8. The advertising display sign board of claim 7, wherein the image display unit further includes a voltage controlling device for controlling brightness of the light emitted from the backlight by controlling an amount of a voltage applied to the backlight under control of the central processor unit.
9. The advertising display sign board of claim 7, wherein the image display unit further includes a predetermined input terminal for inputting a control signal controlling the brightness of the backlight from outside, and wherein the central processor unit inputs a control signal inputted through the input terminal, and controls the brightness of the backlight by controlling the voltage applied to the backlight according to the control signal.
10. The advertising display sign board of claim 9, wherein the input terminal is connected to a DIP switch for selecting and inputting the brightness of the backlight by a user.
11. The advertising display sign board of claim 9, wherein the input terminal is connected to a brightness detecting sensor for sensing degree of brightness in external environment.
12. The advertising display sign board of claim 9, wherein the input terminal is an input port connected to a predetermined terminal for inputting the control signal.
13. The advertising display sign board of claim 7, wherein the backlight is an external electrode fluorescent lamp.
14. The advertising display sign board of claim 7, wherein the backlight is a cold cathode fluorescent lamp.
15. The advertising display sign board of claim 14, wherein the driving circuit includes an inverter.
16. The advertising display sign board of claim 7, wherein the backlight is an LED lamp.
17. The advertising display sign board of claim 16, wherein the driving circuit is an LED driver.
18. The advertising display sign board of claim 16, wherein the image display unit further includes a predetermined input terminal for inputting a control signal controlling a color of the backlight from outside, and wherein the central processor unit inputs a control signal inputted through the input terminal, and controls the color of the backlight by controlling the driving circuit according to the control signal.
19. The advertising display sign board of claim 18, wherein the input terminal is connected to a DIP switch for selecting and inputting the color of the backlight by a user.
20. The advertising display sign board of claim 18, wherein the input terminal is an input port connected to a predetermined terminal for inputting the control signal.
21. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the connection frame whose an upper end is fixed by a predetermined connection screw to make a rotating axis has a predetermined coupling unit in a lower end, and is vertically opened/closed on the rotating axis.
22. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the frame further includes a connection groove connected to a rod-shaped supporting bar in predetermined length on a lower side.
23. The advertising display sign board of claim 1, wherein the frame further includes a connection groove connected to a rod-shaped supporting bar in predetermined length on a back side.
