Abstract

U-locks and air pumps for bicycles are generally known and have been marketed for decades. Locks and pumps are the only portable parts of a bicycle. The U-lock (with a fixed mounting on the bicycle) has become increasingly successful as the optimal security item for the bicycle, whereas the pump with a fixed mounting on the bicycle has not enjoyed as much success. The inventive U-lock consists of a bow and two straight parts, whose ends terminate in a lock. One straight part is configured as a pump with a reinforced casing so that the normal function of the U-lock is maintained.
