Abstract

A construction diaphragm (10) including a core comprised of one or more ribbed sheet metal panels (12) with expanded polystyrene (EPS) rigid insulation panels (18) secured to the interior and exterior sides of the ribbed sheet metal panels (12). On the exterior side of the wall, exterior siding (26), a moisture barrier (24) is positioned between the insulation panel (18) and the exterior siding (26). On the interior side of the wall, interior siding (28) is secured to the wall. Electrical boxes (32) may be placed in the walls by positioning the boxes (32) in indentations formed in the ribbed sheet metal panels (12).
