Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a removable pocket structure, of the type which can be applied to garments, such as trousers, shirts, sports tops, T-shirts, tracksuits, etc., but also to other objects which are commonly used such as bags, containers, tents, rucksacks, blankets, and other objects made of fabric or other flexible sheet-like materials.
  • the pocket structure according to the invention may be applied to a basic support consisting of a fabric or a flexible sheet-like material and comprises a enclosure element in the form of flat pocket formed by a back sheet and by a front sheet which are peripherally joined together along three edges, as well as one or more members for removably connecting together the pocket-type enclosure element and the basic support.
  • a pocket is intended to store temporarily internally thereof small- size objects used for various purposes, such as money, credit cards, personal items, tools, documents, etc.
  • the user does not always have one or more pockets in his/her clothing sufficient in number to contain all the items in his/her possession, especially in the case of occasional trips and journeys.
  • one or more additional pockets which, once no longer used, may be removed without altering the configuration of the basic support so as to ensure that the article of clothing or object on which they are mounted retains its original appearance.

  • US-A-4, 389, 801 describes an additional pocket which is fixed to the fabric of the garment, in the desired position, by means of adhesive elements situated along three sides of the pocket.
  • Another American patent describes an additional pocket fixed in the desired position by means of continuous velcro strips provided on the garment itself.
  • a drawback of this known pocket consists in the considerable quantity of velcro which is used and the tendency of the latter to collect impurities and dirt.
  • US-A-4,266,300 describes an additional pocket fixed to the fabric of the garment by means of an adhesive distributed along the top edge of the pocket and fixed by means of pressure onto the garment.
  • a drawback of this known pocket consists in the fact that it may be reused only a limited number of times owing to the deterioration in the properties of the adhesive. Abstract
