Abstract

L'invention a trait au domaine médical, en particulier à des méthodes et moyens de physiothérapie préventive. L'électrostimulation s'effectue dans l'eau, dans des conditions d'immersion totale du patient ou de la plus grande partie du corps de ce patient. L'action de stimulation peut être régulée par le patient lui-même, par modification de la distance entre la partie stimulée du corps et l'électrostimulateur. L'électrostimulateur se présente sous la forme d'un appareil portatif pourvu d'un corps hermétique à électrodes à couche mince métalliques, disposées sur les surfaces opposées de l'appareil. Ledit appareil comporte également une poignée permettant au patient de le tenir. L'électrostimulateur selon l'invention est très efficace quant à son action physiothérapeutique. Son utilisation est simple et pratique et la sécurité électrique est totale. Cet électrostimulateur peut donc être utilisé dans la physiothérapie quotidienne. Des tests ont également révélé des effets de massage électrique et des effets psycho-émotionnels importants, comparables aux effets produits par une baignoire d'hydromassage.
