Abstract

The invention relates to a data carrier for a mobile radio device comprising an identification device (4) for identification of a user of said mobile radio device (1) in relation to a mobile radio service provider and a non-volatile electronic memory (3) for receiving large amounts of data. The inventive data carrier makes it possible to download large amounts of data from the Internet, for example which can be stored on said data carrier without having to use a normal SIM card.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Datenträger für ein Mobilfunkgerät. Jedes Mobilfunkgerät besitzt einen Datenträger, der üblicherweise mit SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) bezeichnet wird. Dieser Datenträger dient zur Identifizierung eines Benutzers des Mobilfunkgeräts gegenüber einem Mobil- funkanbieter, über den die Verbindung abgewickelt wird, so daß eine korrekte Abrechnung gegenüber dem Benutzer möglich ist. Solche Datenträger besitzen einen begrenzten Speicherplatz, der maximal 64 kB umfaßt, um darin Nutzerdaten wie Telefonnummern usw. zu speichern. Der erfindungsgemäße Datenträger weist also sowohl die üblichen Funktionen als Subscriber Identification Module als auch einen Speicher zur Aufnahme von großen Datenmengen, die beispielsweise aus dem Internet heruntergeladen werden, auf. Ein erfindungsgemäßer Datenträger kann statt einer konventionellen SIM-Karte verwendet werden. Um die alte Schnittstelle verwenden zu können, ist es vorteilhaft, wenn der Datenträger Kontaktflächen nach der ISO 7816 aufweist. Zusätzlich können aber auch Schnittstellen nach anderen Standards, beispiels- weise für die sogenannten MMCards oder SD-Cards vorgesehen werden. Durch die flexible Ausgestaltung ist es möglich, daß in ein Mobilfunkgerät entweder eine normale SIM-Karte oder eine SIM-Karte mit einer zusätzlichen Speicherfunktionen nach der Erfindung eingesetzt werden kann.
