Abstract

L'invention concerne un câble de répéteur sous-marin de fibres optiques pourvu d'une isolation/d'une gaine combinées. Ce câble est caractérisé en ce que l'isolation/la gaine combinées comprennent au moins deux couches, dont une couche est une couche isolante et une autre couche interne située à l'intérieur de la couche isolante possède une résistivité inférieure à celle de la couche isolante. De ce fait, le taux de résistivité de la couche interne par rapport à celui de la couche isolante est inférieur à 0,3 :1. De préférence, le couche interne contient le même polymère de base que la couche isolante. La couche isolante renferme, de préférence, une polyoléfine multimodale obtenue par polymérisation d'au moins une oléfine en au moins deux étapes et elle possède une densité comprise entre 0,915 et 0,955 g/cm3 et un indice de fluidité (MFR¿2?) de 0.2-3.0 g/10 min. En outre, la polyoléfine multimodale contient au moins des première et seconde fractions de polyoléfine, la première fraction possédant (a) une densité comprise entre 0,930 et 0,975 g/cm?3¿ et un indice de fluidité (MFR¿2?) compris entre 50 et 2000 g/10 min ou (b) une densité allant de 0,88 à 0,93 g/cm?3¿ et un indice de fluidité (MFR¿2?) allant de 0,01 à 0,8 g/10 min.
