Description

Desk organizer
The present invention refers to a desk organizer or container combining storage and dispensation of various office supplies.
Background of the invention
It is rather common not to find tape, pens, paper clips, thumbtacks or the like when you need them. This is mainly due to the fact that these articles tend to be stored in different areas and in different containers. In addition storage containers often take up a great deal of space on the desk and in the work place. Certainly there are tape dispensers, but they are bulky and unwieldy and often limited to hold one role of tape at a time. Cylinder shaped pen holders also take up space and moreover easily topple over.
The object of the invention and its most important features
The object of the invention is to facilitate the storage and availability of various office supplies, such as tape, pens, paper clips, thumbtacks, erasers, etc. and to use minimal space in storing all these types of supplies in one container. The present invention solves the problem by using the space created through the stacking of one or several roles of tape upon each other. This space is then used for storing pens and the like. To avoid excess of friction between the stacked roles of tape and the surface upon which they rest, a rotateable disc, which turns around a central axle 8, is used. This facilitates the dispensing of tape when tape is pulled from the container. Storage space is created by the stacked roles of tape, which in turn rest upon a box intended to supplement the desk organizer. The basic way of utilizing the space created by the stacked roles of tape results in a desk organizer accommodating one or several roles of tape, pens, etc., and that is easy to handle, easy to find and furthermore constitutes an improvement of the use of surface space on desks and in work places. Brief description of the drawings
Fig 1 shows a desk organizer or container in its entirety with space for pens and the like.
Fig 2 shows a desk organizer with separated cover and rotateable disc.
Fig 3 shows a cross section so that the central column is exposed.
Fig 4 shows among other things the metal weight and screw which affixes the cover.
Fig 5 shows the desk organizer from above and with open drawers.
Fig 6 shows the desk organizer with open drawers.
Fig 7 shows the desk organizer from above with closed drawers, and
Fig 8 is a view from underneath of the desk organizer with screw for affixing the same on a surface.
Description of the illustrated embodiment
The drawings 1-8 show a desk organizer or container with an underlying structure 5 and drawers 6 supplementing the desk organizer. An upper cover 2 must be able to be lifted off so as to enable refilling or exchange of tape when necessary. The cover 2 is screwed on to the structure 5 and kept in place with screw 10 as shown in fig 4. The cover 2 rests upon the structure 5 containing said drawers 6, which can be drawn out so as to allow accommodation of supplies such as paper clips, thumbtacks and the like. Fig 2 and 3 show a central column 9, which holds together the structure. One or several roles of tape are meant to fit under said cover 2. The desk organizer can by way of example be placed on the surface of a desk by use of a screw device on the bottom 12. Should one wish to avoid thus making a mark on the desk, a metal weight 11 shown in fig 4 can be used as a stabilizer.
