Abstract

The invention relates to a method for improving transmission quality between telecommunication devices (CPE; CO). Transmission of data that can be transmitted from an xDSL transceiver unit - central office (ATU-C) downstream to an xDSL transceiver unit - remote (ATU-R) can be optimized by if necessary partially adding a correction factor (k) to the frequency range (F) available for transmission of the data to optimize the data transmission rate (B/b). Said correction factor is obtained on the basis of predictable disturbances (AM) using statistical information.
