Abstract

A method for locating mobile devices that communicate using first and second communication protocols. In this method, TOA measurements are made for signals conforming to first and second communication protocols. A location of a first mobile device is calculated based on the TOA measurements made for signals conforming to first communication protocol, and a location of a second mobile device is calculated based on the TOA measurements made for signals conforming to second communication protocol. This method may be used on the uplink system or on the downlink.
