Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Anforderung und Übertragung elektronischer Ressourcen über ein Datennetz. Ein nach diesem Verfahren arbeitender Web-Server Interpretiert den URL-Pfad einer von einem Client eingehenden Anfrage als Identifikationsangabe, die von dem physikalischen Speicherort der angeforderten Web-Seite unabhängig ist. Zum Auffinden der angeforderten Web-Seite erfolgt auf dem Server eine Zuordnung der Identifikationsangabe zu dem physikalischen Speicherort. Hierzu verwendet der Web-Server eine Datanbank, in welcher für von dem Server bereitgestellte Web-Seiten jeweils deren physikalischer Speicherort und jeweils eine Zeichenkette als Identifikationsangabe gespeichert sind. Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren ermöglicht die Verwendung von kurzen inhaltsbezogenen und damit leicht zu merkenden URLs die wegen der Unabhängigkeit vom physikalischen Speicherort persistent sind.
