Abstract

The present invention relates to a catalytic conversion interface and method of use thereof in continuous flow isotope ratio mass spectrometry. The interface comprises a catalyst for combusting a sample containing organic compounds to yield CO2 and/or N2 at temperatures of ∫800 °C. The catalyst comprises a metal selected from Pd, Ni, Pt, Rh, Ag, Ru, Co, Fe, Mo, W, Zn, Gd, Ce, Pr and mixtures thereof.
