Abstract

The invention relates to a measuring appliance for precisely recording circumference measurements, especially of body parts or areas. A flexible measuring strip (2) is provided in a housing (1) and can be reintroduced into the housing (1) by means of a spring (4). The free end of the flexible measuring strip is provided with a latch device (6) which can be detachably latched to a corresponding part (5) on the housing (1) or to the region of the measuring strip (2) which protrudes out of the housing (1).
