Abstract
The invention relates to a stroke-controlled valve for use as a fuel dosing device in an injection system of an internal combustion engine. Said valve comprises a stepped valve needle (11) that is actuated within valve body (10, 10a) against a spring force (30), a first pressure chamber (13) linked with a high-pressure supply (14), a second pressure chamber (15) that has s connection (16, 16a) leading to an injection nozzle associated therewith, and a depressurized fuel return (17). The stroke-controlled valve according to the invention is especially characterized in that two axially spaced-apart valve-sealing edges (18, 27) are configured on the valve needle (11) and interact with a respective valve seat (20 or 29) thereby forming a first valve (18, 20) and a second valve (27, 29) in such a way that the valve (27, 29) interlinks the two pressure chambers (13, 15) and that the first valve (18, 20) links the second pressure chamber (15) with the depressurized fuel return (17). The axial distance between the two valve seats (20, 29) is larger than the axial distance of the two valve-sealing edges (18, 27) to such an extent that (only) during duration of the stroke of the valve needle (11) the first (18, 20) and the second valve (27, 29) are open at the same time.
