Abstract

A method for detecting the presence of target nucleic acid sequences in a human or animal subject infected by an infectious agent comprising obtaining a fluid or solubilized sample from the subject and detecting the presence of the target in the sample by nucleic acid hybridization. In addition, the present invention is directed to methods of detecting and measuring any oligonucleotides and polynucleotides of interest, including but not limited to mRNA for cytokines and hormones and genetic DNA sequences.
