Abstract

The invention relates to a device for verifying the transmission power of a transmitter laser module (7). The invention comprises a method and a calculation device for automatically calculating a balancing value and for converting said balancing value into a reference current value for monitoring the output power of a transmitter laser module (7). The invention can be used in a device for transmitting data using laser light.
