Description

TAP FOR BEVERAGE CAN CONTAINER INCLUDING CHARACTER
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a tab for a beverage can container including a character, and in particular to a tab for a beverage can container including a character which can improve design and popularity of a product, by forming a character and mark for displaying a kind of the product on the tab for opening a hole of the beverage can container, and which also can improve distinctiveness of the product, by simply displaying a use or kind of the product.
DESCRIPTION OF THE BACKGROUND ART
In general, glass bottles or cylindrical metal containers(hereinafter, referred to as 'can container') having an excellent sealing force have been employed to pack beverages and liquors which may be degenerated.
The glass bottle is little influenced by external environments, and thus has a superior conservation force. In addition, the glass bottle is transparent to stimulate a purchasing mind of consumers. However, the glass bottle is not resistant to an external impact, and thus is difficult to handle. A weight of the glass bottle is increased in proportional to the contents thereof. Therefore, the glass bottle is difficult to carry. Moreover, when a tab hole of the glass bottle is sealed up by a crown cap, an additional device is required to open the cap. Recently, the can container has been widely used to obtain the advantages of the glass bottle and overcome the disadvantages thereof. The can container generally consists of a paint-coated steel plate, or a nonferrous metal which does not generate rust and which is light weighted, such as aluminum.
The can container has a cylindrical body, and plate-shaped ends are sealed up to the upper and lower portions of the body. A tab for opening a hole is adhered to one of the ends.
Accordingly, the consumer breaks a score line on the end adhered to the tab, and easily drinks the contents in the can container through the hole formed along the score line. However, the tab for the can container is used merely to form the hole for discharging the contents from the can container.
Therefore, a character and mark displaying a kind, trademark or production company of the product are formed on the body of the can container. It is thus difficult to encourage or satisfy a purchasing mind of the consumers. Especially, the can container products are mostly packed in a box. When downwardly seeing the products in the box, the consumers only can see the end portions of the can containers, and thus cannot exactly distinguish the products. As a result, the consumers buy the products on the basis of words or figures printed on the surface of the box, not the actual shape of the products, thereby reducing purchasing desire of the consumers.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
A tab for a beverage can container including a character in accordance with the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 2 is a plan view illustrating the beverage can container with the tab including the character in accordance with the present invention.
As illustrated in Figure 2, the tab for the beverage can container including the character, comprises: a handle unit 224 having one side boundary formed in an elliptical shape; a cocking unit 230 formed in the center portion of the can container separately from the handle unit 224 by a predetermined distance, and adhered to an end 210 of the can container; and a cutting unit 222 formed in an outer circumferential direction of the cocking unit 230. Here, a character unit 240 is formed on the handle unit 224. Differently from the conventional tab, a hole is not formed on the handle unit
224 of the tab in accordance with the present invention. Instead, the character unit 240 is formed thereon. Referring to Figure 3, a character sticker 260 where various designs are printed is directly adhered to the upper portion of the handle unit 224 by a sticker adhering device(not shown) in the fabrication process of the can container. Alternatively, as depicted in Figure 4, the character unit 240 may be formed by forming an embossed surface 270 on the upper portion of the handle unit 224 of the tab 220 in the tab formation process.
On the other hand, instead of the sticker or embossed character, a character may be directly printed on the handle unit 225, or an engraved pattern may be formed thereon. Especially, the tab is not restricted to a specific metal material.
In addition, a sloped unit 226 is formed between the cutting unit 222 and the cocldng unit 230. The handle unit 224 of the tab 220 adhered onto the end 210 of the can container 200 is maintained more separately from the upper portion of the end 210 by the sloped unit 226. That is to say, the sloped unit 226 serves to widen an interval between the handle unit 224 of the tab 220 and the end 210. Accordingly, even if the character unit 240 covers an insertion hole for users, a score line 250 on the end 210 can be broken, thereby easily forming a hole of the can container.
In accordance with the present invention, the handle unit 224 of the tab 220 for opening the hole of the beverage can container includes the character unit 240 for displaying a kind of the product thereon. Therefore, various designs of the character unit 240 are externally displayed to stimulate an aesthetic sense of the consumers.
As discussed earlier, the products become more popular due to the improved design. Moreover, the consumers can easily distinguish the products, by simply displaying a use or kind of the products through the character unit 240. As a result, reliability of the products is improved.
As the present invention may be embodied in several forms without departing from the spirit or essential characteristics thereof, it should also be understood that the above-described embodiment is not limited by any of the details of the foregoing description, unless otherwise specified, but rather should be construed broadly within its spirit and scope as defined in the appended claims, and therefore all changes and modifications that fall within the meets and bounds of the claims, or equivalences of such meets and bounds are therefore intended to be embraced by the appended claims.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will become better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings, which are given only by way of illustration and thus are not limitative of the present invention, wherein: Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating a conventional tab adhered to a beverage can container;
Figure 2 is a plan view illustrating a beverage can container with a tab including a character in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention;
Figure 3 is a perspective view illustrating a tab for a beverage can container including a character in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention; and
Figure 4 is a perspective view illustrating a tab for a beverage can container including a character in accordance with a third embodiment of the present invention.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a tab for a beverage can container including a character which can improve design and popularity of a product, by forming a character and mark for displaying a kind of the product on the tab for opening a hole of the beverage can container, and which also can improve distinctiveness of the product, by simply displaying a use or kind of the product.
In order to achieve the aforementioned object of the present invention, there is provided a tab for a beverage can container including a character, comprising: a handle unit having one side boundary formed in an elliptical shape; a cocking unit formed in the center portion of the can container separately from the handle unit by a predetermined distance, and adhered to an end of the can container; and a cutting unit formed in an outer circumferential direction of the cocking unit, a character unit being represented a predetermined design or character by adhering directly a character sticker or by forming an embossed surface onto the handle unit, a sloped unit formed at a space between the cutting unit and the cocking unit. INDUSTRIAL APPLIC ABILITY
According to the present invention, there are several advantages that can improve design and popularity of a product, by forming a character and mark for displaying a kind of the product on the tab for opening a hole of the beverage can container, and also can improve distinctiveness of the product, by simply displaying a use or kind of the product.
