Description

HOME-AUTOMATION HDTV HAVING A FUNCTION OF HOME-AUTOMATION
SERVER
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Fiold of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to a home- automation high definition television having a function of a hone-automation server, and more particularly to a home- automation high definition television having a function of a hore-automation server, which has a home security function to thoroughly monitor the interior of a home.
Description of the Prior Art Fig. 1 is a block diagram of a conventional high definition television (HDTV) . As shown in Fig. 1, the HDTV conprises an RF tuner 10, a VSB demodulation unit 20, a synchronization/equalization unit 30, a channel decoding unit 40, a Moving Picture Expert Group 2 (MPEG 2) demultiplexer 50, a MPEG 2 video decoder 60 for HDTV, an RGB converter 70, a microprocessor module 80, a channel interface 90, a MPEG audio decoder 100, a stereo audio system 110 and a data output unit 120.
The RF tuner 10 is connected to an antenna, which is an outdoor device of HRTU (HDTV receiver test unit) , and adjusts the frequency of a signal received from the antenna to correspond to the frequency of a channel required by a local oscillator, such that the output frequency becomes approximately 45.75MHz. The Vestigial Side Band (VSB) demodulation unit 20 demodulates an IF signal into a base band signal using a surface carrier signal of 46.691MHz. In this process, the VSB demodulation unit 20 receives an automatic gain control (AGC) signal and a phase polarity contro] signal for presenting the sign inversion of a signal from the synchronization/equalization unit 30 and performs an AGC function and a function of preventing the phase; ambiguity of a demodulated signal. The synchronization/equalization unit 30 generates an A/D conversion clock signal of 10.76MHz such that the A/D conversion is performed at a point where SNR is maximized, and performs the functions of segment and field synchronization, a Comb filter, and a phase tracking loop (PLT) channel equalization.
The channel decoding unit 40 decodes the base band data restored by the VSB demodulation unit 20 and the synchronization/equalization unit 30 as origina L transmission stream data packet sent from a transmitter. This circuit is comprised of a trellis-coded modulation (TCM) decoder (rate 2/3) , a symbol to byte converter, a de-interleaver, a Reed- Solomon (207, 187) decoder and a de-randomizer.
The MPEG2 demultiplexer 50 selects and extracts one service using a program sent from the transmitter and Service Information/Program Specific Information (SI/PSI) data. A program service can consist of one video stream, and audio of 5. 1 channel linked to the video stream.
The MPEG2 video decoder 60 for HDTV processes MPEG2 MPGHL from MPEG-2 ES streams. Video generated by the MPEG2 video decoder 60 has a screen length and breadth ratio of 16:9, a frame rate of 30, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The RGB converter 70 converts the output of the video decoder 60 and transmits the converted output to the HDTV. The microprocessor module 80 performs entire initialization, maintenance and the control of a HDTV receiver. Further, the microprocessor module 80 supports the process for users and RMS instructions.
The channel interface 90 has a channel access function. The MPEG audio decoder 100 basically processes MPEG-1 ' layer II audio of Audio Compression (AC) -3 or International Organization for Standardization (ISO) /International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 1 1172-3 layer II and outputs the processed result to the stereo audio system 110. The data output unit 120 is a serial Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) , and has an external serial interface of RC-232C or an external interface of RS- 422.
However, the conventional HDTV having the above configuration is problematic in that it has only a function of receiving video and audio to replay them, while not having a home-automation sever function including home security.
