Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention include methods and systems for charging a plurality of parties for usage of a multi-part tariff based resource. Usage of the resource by a selected account is monitored during a billing period. A total charge amount is determined for the usage of the resource by the selected account during the billing period. If the total charge amount exceeds a first payee amount, a first payee associated with the selected account is charged for the first payee amount and one or more second payee associated with the selected account is charged for an amount based on the total charge amount less the first payee amount. The first payee amount may correspond to a transition point between parts of the multi-part tariff. The resource may be internet access or a wireless communication service. Methods and systems for controlling usage of a multi-part tariff based resource are also provided.
