Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé d'indexage d'images numériques. L'image est divisée en sections, dont l'intensité moyenne de pixel de chacune d'elles est déterminée et comparée à celle d'au moins une autre section et on établit un identificateur ou une signature numérique. L'invention concerne également un procédé de recherche d'image sur un ordinateur. On établit la signature pour l'image à rechercher, ce qui consiste notamment à permettre une tolérance spécifiée lors de la comparaison des sections de l'image. La signature de l'image à rechercher est ensuite comparée aux signatures d'autres images. Il y a correspondance d'image si les signatures sont identiques, à l'intérieur d'une tolérance spécifiée.
