Abstract

L'invention concerne des systèmes, procédés et produits-programmes informatiques permettant de réduire la quantité de données transférée par l'intermédiaire de réseaux. Une demande d'obtention de données XML faite par un client à un serveur, comprend une feuille de style XSL utilisée pour transformer les données XML en au moins un format client préféré, un format client préféré comportant une quantité de données réduite, et une quantité de données réduite mettant en oeuvre la feuille de style XSL. Le serveur recevant la demande client transforme les données XML en un format préféré par le client et fournit au client les données XML transformées, par l'intermédiaire d'un réseau. Le serveur peut stocker la feuille de style XSL reçue servant à transformer les données XML en réponse à de futures demandes de clients, lesquelles peuvent être accompagnées d'une identification de la feuille de style XSL que le serveur doit utiliser pour transformer les données XML demandées.
