Abstract

The storage container (1) comprises a body (2) and two adapter parts (3). The body (2) is an empty box having a certain inner volume. The adapter part (3) enables the body (2) placed on it perform the opening/closing movement in a stepwise way and provides the mounting of the body (2) to its place securely. The body (2) is disposed on the adapter parts (3) placed onto the door (13). The body (2) rotates about the rotational pin (7) attached into the rotational axis recess (4). during rotation, the stepping pin (5) moves inside the stepping recess (6) and fits into the cavities formed between the bosses created in the stepping recess (6).

Description

STORAGE CONTAINER FOR REFRIGERATORS
The present invention relates to a storage container used in ref igerators, which realizes a movement in a stepwise fashion by rotating about an axis to be brought to open or closed positions.
In the state of art, storage containers that are placed in a refrigerator door, that can be opened or closed towards the user with a one-stepped movement by using pivot connections to secure them to the inner door structure, are used. Such storage boxes/containers move on a horizontal plane and numerous problems arise as they are mounted on locations with little depth, such as refrigerator doors. Examples of such storage boxes/containers may be found in the US Patents, No. 2944410, 4186978 and 5513910.
In the US Patent No. 5685624, a storage container which is so placed in a refrigerator door that it can be opened towards the user, by using pivot connections on the vertical axis to secure it to the inner door structure, to allow one-stepped movement to be opened or closed, is disclosed.
The object of the present invention is to realize a storage container to be used in refrigerators, which can be opened/closed at more than one step by rotating about an axis.
The storage container realized to attain the above mentioned object of the present invention has been illustrated in the attached drawings, wherein;

Figure 3, is the view showing the adapter part as mounted onto the refrigerator door, Figure 4a, is the side schematical view of the storage container mounted on the refrigerator door, in the closed position,
Figure 4b, is the side schematical view of the storage container mounted on the refrigerator door, in the first step.
Figure 4c, is the side schematical view of the storage container mounted on the refrigerator door, in the second step.
Figure 5a, is the view showing the storage container on the refrigerator door, in the closed position,
Figure 5b, is the view showing the storage container on the refrigerator door, in the open position.

The storage container (1) according to the present invention is preferably placed into the inner surface of the refrigerator doors (13). In this case, the inner volume of the refrigerator can be used more efficiently. The storage container (1) comprises a body (2) and two adapter parts (3).
The body (2) is an empty box having a certain inner volume. On both lateral surfaces of the body (2), a rotational axis recess (4) allowing the body (2) to be placed in the adapter part (2) to enable its stepwise movement, and a stepping pin (5) are provided.
The adapter part (3) enables the body (2) placed on it to perform the opening/closing movement in a stepwise way and that provides the mounting of the body (2) to its place securely.
Said adapter part (3) comprises a fixation recess (9), a rib (8), a stepping recess (6) and a rotational pin (7) (figures 1 and 2).
The rotational pin (7) provided on the lateral surface of the adapter part (3) facing to the body (2), below the stepping recess (6), constitutes the rotational axis of the body (2).
The stepping recess (6) has a structure with at least one curvilinear boss on which the stepping pin (5) provided on the lateral face of the body (2) is seated. The number of said bosses are determined in direct proportion with the number of the stepwise movements intended to be obtained.
The fixation recess (9) has such a structure that it inhibits the movement of the adapter part (3) secured to the door plastic element, in all directions. Said recess (9) is preferably made in the shape of reverse "U" so that its three sides are closed and the bottom side is open.
The rib (8) is provided on the surface of the adapter part (3) that faces towards the door (13) and inhibits the movement of the adapter part (3). Certain modifications are made on the door (13) in order to provide the mounting of the above disclosed adapter part (3) onto the door (13) without using any fastening elements.
A protrusion (10) is formed on the vertical side-edge of the door (13) in order to prevent its movement on horizontal plane. Furthermore, a side wall groove (11) is provided on the door at its lateral side of such a width and length that the rib (8) provided on the adapter part (3) can rest against it. By resting the rib (8) against the side wall groove (11), the movement of the adapter part (3) on horizontal plane is prevented. Additionally, a fixation projection (12) that fits into the fixation recess (9) provided at the bottom surface of the adapter part (3), is provided on the top surface of the door (13). Said fixation projection (12) has a structure with a width that allows it to be fitted onto the fixation recess (9); and is preferably of a rectangular prism shape.
Two adapter parts (3) are placed in an opposing position, with the guidance of the protrusions (10) and side wall grooves (11) provided on the door. When the adapter parts (3) are mounted on the door (13), the protrusion on the door (13) presses on the adapter part (3) and at the same time, the rib (8) provided on the adapter part (3) rests against the side wall groove (11) provided on the door (13), and the fixation projection (12) fits into the fixation recess (9) (Fig. 3).
The body (2) is disposed on the adapter parts (3) which is placed onto the door (13) as described above. For this purpose, the rotational pin (7) on the adapter part (3) is fitted into the rotational axis recess (4) on the lateral side of the body (2). At the same time, the stepping pin (5) on the body (2) fits into the stepping recess (6) on the adapter part (3). In this case, the body (2) rotates about the rotational pin (7) attached into the rotational axis recess (4). During rotation, the stepping pin (5) moves inside the stepping recess (6) and fits into the cavities formed between the bosses created in the stepping recess (6). Thus the body (2) is enabled to perform a stepwise movement and to stop at the desired step (Figures 4a, 4b and 4c) . The number of steps varies according to the number of the bosses.
The storage container (1) is placed vertically on the refrigerator door, but it can also be placed obliquely.
The fact that the storage container (1) according to the present invention, can be opened in a stepwise fashion, allows an easy loading of food into the storage container (1) and an easy access to the food present in said storage container.

Claims

1. A storage container (1) for refrigerators, comprises an adapter part (3) including a rotational pin (7) and a stepping recess (6) and a body (2) including a rotational axis recess (4) fixed onto the rotational pin (7) and a stepping pin (5) placed into the stepping recess (6), that is placed between two adapter parts (3), and rotates about the rotational pin (7) attached to the rotational axis recess (4); and moves in a stepwise fashion and stops at a desired step by virtue of the movement of the stepping pin (5) inside the stepping recess (6) during the rotational movement.
2. A storage container (1) for refrigerators, as defined in Claim 1, characterized with, the adapter part (3) having a stepping recess (6) in which the stepping pin (5) provided on the lateral surface of the body (2) is fitted, with a curvilinear structure with at least one boss.
3. A storage container (1) for refrigerators, as defined in Claims 1 and 2, characterized with, the adapter part (3) comprising a fixation recess (9), a rib (8), a stepping recess (6) and a rotational pin (7) which is mounted on the door
(13) by resting the rib (8) against the side wall groove (11) on the door, by fitting the fixation projection (12) on the door (13) into the fixation recess (9) and by the pressing of the protrusion (10) formed on the lateral surface of the door (13).
