Description
Vehicle interior equipment element
The object of the invention is a vehicle interior equipment element, for example a headrest or armrest.
There are vehicle interior equipment elements that are popularly known, e.g. headrests, and which consist of a frame supporting an elastic cushion made of foamed plastic material with a separately sewn covering made of cloth or another material. The edges of the covering are connected in an invisible place, for example, at the bottom of the headrest on the side of the backrest, for instance, with upholstery clips and masked with a separate masking frame fixed with screws.
Such a headrest construction is the reason why the edges of the covering can be connected only in invisible places. This construction cannot be used, for example, when headrests with central openings are used.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate the faults of the known solution by constructing a vehicle interior equipment element in which the edges of the covering can be connected and the covering can be fixed to the elastic cushion in any place.
This aim has been achieved by providing the elastic cushion with a covering fixing element having a section shape similar to the letter U and adapted to the shape of the connection lines of the covering edges. If the edges of the covering are connected along a straight line the fixing element has a straight shape. If, however, the edges of the covering are connected along the perimeter of a figure, for example similar to an ellipse, correspondingly the fixing element has the shape of an elliptic ring. The inside of the fixing element is provided with snap fasteners, which hold the edges of the covering. The snap fasteners are directed with their spikes inside and they are inclined towards the bottom, which prevents the covering from slipping off.
In the second version of the invention the fixing element is connected by means of a snap fastener with a masking element placed on the outside of the covering and adhering to it. In the view the shape of the masking element corresponds to the shape of the fixing element, which means that if the fixing element has a straight shape the masking element is also straight. If the fixing element has the shape of a closed curve the masking element has the same shape. In this version the fixing element has at its bottom means for snap connection with the masking element.
The solution used in the invention has the advantage of making it possible to have a covering placed on objects having any shapes, for example, on headrests with central openings, while the connection line of the covering edges is located on the back of the headrest.
The object of the invention is explained in more detail using an example version in the drawing presenting a headrest, where Fig. 1 presents a rear view of the headrest, Fig. 2 shows the section of the headrest from Fig. 1 along line A- A, Fig. 3 detail of the version without the masking element and Fig. 4 detail of the version with the masking element. Fig. 5 shows detail S before the masking element is mounted.
The vehicle interior equipment element in the form of a headrest with a central opening consists of a frame 1 that supports an elastic cushion 2 made of foamed plastic material. The cushion 2 is provided with a fixing element 3, which has the shape of a ring and its section is similar to the shape of the letter U. The inside walls of the fixing element 3 are equipped with snap fasteners 4 whose spikes are inclined towards the bottom of the section. The whole of the cushion 2 has a separately made covering 5, whose edges are held by the snap fasteners 4. The fixing element 3 is connected by means of a snap fastener with the masking element 6^ which on the outside covers the place where the covering 5 is fixed to the cushion 2. The masking element 6 is placed on the back of the headrest.
