Abstract

The invention relates to a piece of furniture fitted with an electromotive drive for regulating at least one component for a piece of furniture. Said drive can be activated by a hand switch by means of a control unit. Each electromotive drive can be supplied by the electricity supply network during normal operation, and by an auxiliary voltage source in the event of a power failure. Said piece of furniture is designed in such a way that the electricity supply is still guaranteed in cases such as a power failure, but electricity accumulators are avoided. According to the invention, the auxiliary voltage source is a generator (18) which can be operated independently from the electricity supply network. The generator (18) is effectively and manually operated, a diode (19) being provided between the generator (18) and the control unit (13) in such a way that a reflux of the current in the generator is prevented during normal operation. Dies erfolgt bislang durch einen Akkumulator oder durch eine Batterie. Die Kapazität ist jedoch relativ gering, so daß dieser Notbetrieb nur über einen äußerst kurzen Zeitraum möglich ist. Darüber hinaus ist ein leerer Akkumulator erst nach Stunden wieder einsatzbereit, bedingt durch die relativ lange Aufladezeit. Dieses Gehäuse wird dann in geeigneter Weise am Möbelgestell befestigt, wobei in weiterer Ausgestaltung vorgese- hen ist, daß zur Stromversorgung mehrerer Antriebseinheiten die Baueinheit außerhalb eines Möbels angeordnet wird, und daß die Notstromversorgung mittels eines Netzwerkes erfolgt. So wäre es beispielsweise möglich, daß alle in einem Raum sich befindenden Betten von einem Generator bzw. einer Baueinheit mit Notstrom versorgt werden. Das Getriebe muß nicht direkt von Hand betrieben werden, son- dem es ist auch möglich, daß es mittels eines mechanischen Energiespeichers, beispielsweise einem Aufzieh-mechanismus antreibbar ist. Ein solcher mechanischer Aufziehmechanismus wäre beispielsweise ein Federspeicher. Es wird so montiert, daß die Handkurbel 18 seitlich des Rahmens gedreht werden kann. In nicht näher dargestellter Weise ist die Handkurbel 18 vom Gehäuse 21 abnehmbar, damit sie bei Nichtgebrauch nicht stört. Der Antrieb für das Getriebe 17 kann auch in anderer Weise vorgenommen werden, beispielsweise durch einen Pedalantrieb. Femer ist es möglich, daß mehrere Betten 10 bzw.
