Abstract

Un serveur de téléchargement au niveau de la tête de réseau d'un système câblé transmet une commande à un terminal de télévision numérique, ce qui provoque son fonctionnement en mode de syntonisation d'arrière-plan, ou en mode de syntonisation d'avant-plan ou en mode de syntonisation caractérisé. Le mode de syntonisation d'arrière-plan effectue la configuration du terminal de télévision afin que ce dernier accepte le téléchargement proposé d'objets logiciels ou d'objets de données dans la mesure où l'acceptation de ce téléchargement n'affecte pas un service primaire offert à l'abonné afin que celui-ci puisse visionner sans interruption son programme sélectionné. Le mode de syntonisation d'avant-plan effectue la configuration du terminal de télévision afin que ce dernier accepte immédiatement un téléchargement provenant du serveur de téléchargement par syntonisation opérée sur le canal de téléchargement indépendamment de tout effet exercé sur le service primaire offert à l'abonné. En mode de syntonisation caractérisée, la configuration du terminal de télévision est effectuée, de manière à tenter de télécharger les objets dans l'arrière-plan, sans déranger le service primaire, avant un moment de début spécifique. La reconfiguration du terminal de télévision s'effectue ensuite de façon à accepter immédiatement le téléchargement des objets, ce qui permet d'effectuer ce téléchargement par l'intermédiaire d'un canal en bande, tout en exerçant un impact minimum sur l'abonné.
