The registration process takes place using the H.323 Registration, Admission, and Status (RAS) messaging protocol, well known to those in the art.

- step 1004 it is determined whether the connection to subscriber 101 has been established. If the connection is not yet established, in step 1005, SSP 106 sends a TCAP "Resource_Cleared” message to SCP 112. "Resource_Cleared” message is used by SSP 106 to notify SCP 112 that it has performed the termination. In step 1006, SCP 112 sends a "Disconnect" message to H.323 client 311 and ICW VoIP client 312, thus terminating the call, in step 1007. If in step 1004, it is determined that caller 113 terminated the call after the voice path is setup with subscriber 101, in step 1008, SSP 106 sends a "Resource_Cleared” message to SCP 112.
