Verpackung für optische Speicherplatten wie CD/DVD im Sonderformat von rechteckigen Karten, mit einer Grundplatte (4) und einem darauf angeordneten zentralen Auflagering (43), wobei die Grundplatte (4) mindestens zwei Schutzbereiche (20) bildet, welche sich ausserhalb der zu verpackenden optischen Speicherplatte befinden und über die Grundplatte (4) mindestens annähernd um Summe der Dicke der CD/DVD und der Erhöhung der zentralen Auflagering (43) aufwärts ragen, und welche je mindestens eine Innenkulisse (23) bilden, die einem Teil der Aussenkontur der einzulegenden CD/DVD entspricht, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Schutzbereiche eine Aussenkontur (21) aufweisen, welche mindestens teilweise einen Kreis mit einem Durchmesser zwischen 119 mm und 121 mm umschreiben und, dass die Schutzbereiche (20) von der Grundplatte entfernbar sind.1.
