Abstract

The invention refers to a method for forming needle - like candle surface structure. A method comprises a step of setting a candle body produced in a method known from a prior art into a rotational motion, preferably with a rotational speed of at least 500 rpm and depositing a stream of molten paraffin heated to at least 40 °C onto a rotating candle body surface. A molten paraffin can contain additionally dyes and/or auxiliary agents, such as reflective powder and it is sprayed on using a spraying gun.

Description

AMETHOD FORFORMINGNEEDLES-LIKE CANDLE SURFACE
STRUCTURE
The invention refers to a method for forming needles - like candle
surface structure.
Hitherto the candle bodies are manufactured using a molten paraffin
casting method or powdered paraffin press-moulding method in spe¬
cial forms, which allow to obtain smooth or shaped body surface.
However the form of a body surface is limited with a structure of a
form, which must enable easy and quick emptying thereof. Therefore
the known methods for candle-body forming did not give a possibil¬
ity for obtaining an effective, developed surface of needles-like struc¬
ture.
From a Polish patent description No. 176742 a method for candle
surface decoration with appliques of various shapes and colours is
known. The method comprises covering a surface of a decorated can¬
dle with decorative motifs of a different thickness, and a tempera¬
ture of decorative motifs is higher than a temperature of a surface,
which is lower than 50 C. The known method does not enable to obtain a surface in a shape of
multiple bristled needles.
In a method for forming a needles - like candle surface structure the candle body, manufactured in a method known from the prior art is
set in a rotational motion with a rotation velocity preferable not
lower than 500 rotations per minute and a stream of a molten paraf¬
fin of a temperature at least 40°C is deposited onto a rotating candle
body. The process is carried out preferably using a spray-gun fed
with molten paraffin.
A centrifugal force reacting on a molten paraffin on a candle body
surface during a rotation thereof causes drawing off numerous nee¬
dles perpendicular to a rotation axis before a paraffin becomes cooled
and solid. At the same time molten paraffin partially melts a surface
of a candle body, which improves an adhesion of the decorative layer thereto.
Molten paraffin for spraying can contain additional dyes or auxiliary
agents, such as a reflective metal dust. A manufacturing of needles-like candle surfaces is carried out by
mounting a raw candle body on a rotational core and setting it in a
rotational motion. The prior molten paraffin is supplied to the
spraying gun and sprayed onto the rotating candle body surface. The
spraying gun makes vertical reciprocating movements during the
operation to obtain an equal decorative layer thickness.
Example.
A candle body of a spherical shape, made of a hard paraffin was
mounted on a sharp, slender core, which was then set in a rotational
motion with a velocity of 630 rotations per minute. A molten paraffin
of 75°C, containing a green dye and a lustering agent in a form of a
hammered aluminium powder was supplied to a hydrodynamic
spraying gun and a nozzle was directed to a rotating candle body
surface. At the same time a spraying gun was started to make a re¬
ciprocating movements in a vertical plane, parallel to the candle
body rotation axis to give an equal distribution of a sprayed decorative layer. Spraying was performed for several minutes, and after cooling and hardening of a surface decorative layer a candle body
was stopped and gently taken off the core. In a result the candle of a needles-like surface structure was obtained, having extraordinary
decorative qualities.

Claims

The patent claims
1. A method for forming needles-like candle surface structure, com¬
prising depositing on a candle surface a layer, having a tem¬
perature higher than a temperature of a surface to be covered,
characterized in, that it comprises a step of setting a candle body
produced in a method known from a prior art into a rotational
motion, preferably with a rotational speed of at least 500 rpm
and a depositing a stream of molten paraffin heated to at least
40°C onto a rotating candle body surface.
2. A method according to claim 1, characterized in, that molten par¬
affin is sprayed using a spraying gun.
3. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that molten par¬
affin contains additionally dyes and /or auxiliary agents, such as
reflective powder.
