Bei solchen Schnittstellenvorrichtungen, die beispielsweise als Chipkarten- Lesegerät oder -Lese/Schreibgerät ausgebildet sein können, ist der Eiriführschlitz für die Chipkarte an der Vorderseite des Gehäuseabschnitts gebildet, der im eingeschobenen Zustand der Schnittstellenvorrichtung aus dem PCMCIA- Steckplatz herausragt. Die Abmessungen eines PCMCIA-Steckplatzes sind aufgrund der normierten Größe der PCMCIA-Karten vorgegeben, so daß dadurch auch die Größe der Schnittstellenvorrichtung weitgehend festgelegt ist. Aufgrund der eingeschränkten räumlichen Verhältnisse sind die technisch realisierbaren Funktionsmöglichkeiten der Schnittstellenvorrichtung begrenzt. Es besteht jedoch die Möglichkeit, in oder an dem vorderen Gehäuseabschnitt der Schnittstellenvorrichtung, der nicht in den Steckplatz eingeschoben wird und somit in seiner Ausgestaltung keiner Norm entsprechen muß, verschiedene Einrichtungen unterzubringen, die die Funktionalität der Schnittstellenvorrichtung steigern. Insbesondere bei Schnittstellenvorrichtungen, die in die relativ flachen Steckplätze für PCMCIA-Karten des Typs 1 (durchgehende Höhe 3,3|mm) eingeschoben werden sollen, bietet sich so die Möglichkeit, in dem vorderen Gehäuseabschnitt beispielsweise eine Lese/Schreibeinrichtung auszubilden, die in dem flachen, eingeschobenen Gehäuseteil nur schwer unterzubringen ist.In such interface devices, which can be designed, for example, as a chip card reader or reader / writer, the egg guide slot for the chip card is formed on the front of the housing section, which protrudes from the PCMCIA slot when the interface device is inserted. Außerdem ist es prinzipiell schwierig, in dem durch den Schlitz zweigeteilten Kragen bestimmte Einrichtungen zu verwirklichen. Die Erfindung schafft eine Schnittstellenvorrichtung für Chipkarten, bei der das Volumen des vorderen Gehäuseabschnitts der Schnittstellenvorrichtung besser für funktionelle Einrichtungen genutzt werden kann, ohne daß die emgeführte Chipkarte aus dem Gehäuse herausragt. Gemäß der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, daß der Einführschlitz auf der der Vorderseite entgegengesetzten Seite des vorderen Gehäuseabschnitts ausgebildet ist. Die Erfindung geht von der Erkenntnis aus, daß eine Chipkarte nicht notwendigerweise von vorne in die Schrüttstellenvorrichtung eingeführt werden muß. Bisher wurde dies als unabdingbar angesehen, da nur auf diese Weise eine Chipkarte in eine Schnittstellenvorrichtung, die bereits in einen PCMCIA-Steckplatz eingeschoben ist, eingeführt werden kann. Bei der erfmdungsgemäßen Schnittstellenvorrichtung ist dagegen vorgesehen, die Karte in entgegengesetzter Richtung, d.h. von hinten in den vorderen Gehäuseabschnitt einzuführen. Dies erfordert zwar, daß die Chipkarte in die Schnittstellenvorrichtung eingeführt sein muß, bevor die Vorrichtung in den zugehörigen Steckplatz eingeschoben wird, jedoch erlaubt es die erfindungsgemäße Anordnung des Einfuhrschlitzes, daß alle vorgenannten, bisher notwendigen und als nachteilig erkannten Einschränkungen bei der Ausbildung des vorderen Gehäuseabschnitts der Schnittstellenvorrichtung entfallen können. Somit kann der vordere Gehäuseabschnitt gemäß den entsprechenden Anforderungen der jeweiligen Anwendung frei gestaltet werden.The invention provides an interface device for chip cards in which the volume of the front housing section of the interface device can be better used for functional devices without the chip card emitted protruding from the housing. Die in den Figuren dargestellte Schnittstellenvorrichtung 10 weist ein längliches Gehäuse 12 mit einer Vorderseite 14 und einer Rückseite 16 auf. Auf der Rückseite 16 des Gehäuses 12 ist eine Vielfach- Kontaktleiste 18 (siehe Fig. 3) vorgesehen. An der Vorderseite 14 des Gehäuses 12 ist ein vorderer Gehäuseabschnitt 20 geformt, der dicker als das restliche Gehäuse 12 ausgebildet und durch eine Stufe 22 von diesem abgegrenzt ist. In der senkrecht zur Längsebene des Gehäuses 12 orientierten Fläche der Stufe 22, die der Vorderseite 14 des Gehäuses 12 entgegengesetzt ist, ist ein Einiührschlitz 24 (siehe Fig. 3) angeordnet. Durch diesen Eirifuhrschlitz 24 kann eine Chipkarte 26 mit einem darauf angebrachten Chip 28 von hinten in den vorderen Gehäuseabschnitt 20 der Schnittstellenvorrichtung 10 eingeführt werden. Zur Erleichterung des Einführens der Chipkarte 20 können in dem vorderen Gehäuseabschnitt 20 zusätzlich Führungs- und Positionierhilfen vorgesehen sein. Außerdem ist der Einschubweg der Chipkarte 26 so begrenzt, daß der Chip 28 der Chipkarte 26 exakt unter entsprechenden Kontakten der Scr-rnttstellenvorrichtung 10 zur Kontaktierung des Chips 28 zu liegen kommt. Mittels einer elastisch biegsamen Bodenplatte 30 des Gehäuses 12 wird der Chip 28 Chipkarte 26 gegen die Kontakte der Schnittstellenvorrichtung 10 gedrückt.The interface device 10 shown in the figures has an elongated housing 12 with a front side 14 and a rear side 16.
