Abstract

The invention relates to telephony and is directed at cutting cost and improving telecommunication services for message transfers. A message and a phone number of a subscriber to which the message is addressed are received and recorded by a telephone network. The communication channel with a transmitting subscriber is interrupted and the message transfer is deferred for a certain period of time. Afterwards, said information is transferred to another branch of the telephone network which connects a receiving subscriber and reproduce the message thereto. In the case of the second version, the message transfer is performed at the time fixed by the transmitting subscriber. At the time of the message transmission, the subscriber is informed of the cost of the service. In the third version, the message is reproduced with a delay but without a preliminary transfer to another branch of the telephone network. In the fourth version the message is transferred with delay but by means of the communication channel between two intermediate terminating units of the telephone network. In the fifth version, the message is reproduced on demand and according to the access code received from the receiving subscriber. Five independent and three dependent versions of the invention are also disclosed.
