Ce procédé consiste à former un noyau (108) en confectionnant des préformes élastomères (158) dans les gorges hélicoïdales d'un mandrin (200) et en enroulant la feuille élastomère autour des parties saillantes hélicoïdales formées dans le mandrin (200). Des bandes successives de toile caoutchouc/métallique calandrée (162-170) sont ensuite confectionnées dans les gorges de façon à remplir les gorges qui sont ensuite enroulées avec une autre couche de toile caoutchouc/métallique calandrée (171). L'ensemble est ensuite formé par enroulement filamentaire au moyen de cordons de renforcement (172-174) et durci par compression de façon à lier les composants élastomères sous forme d'un élément unitaire. L'élément (108) est ensuite placé dans un corps (106) de stator et fixé au corps par un élastomère qui est injecté entre l'élément et le corps.
