Abstract

A process for conducting gas-phase catalytic reactions, such as the production of hydrogen cyanide, with a grain stabilized platinum-group metal component is disclosed. For example, the catalyst is grain-stabilized with a Group IIIB or Group IVB metal oxide, thereby providing a higher hardness and creep resistance at elevated temperature, longer catalyst life and higher conversion efficiency.
