Abstract

A lid opener for wheeled bins (12) having hinged lids (17) comprising a lid hinge member (10) and a foot pedal member (50) connected by a wire rope (37), the lid hinge member being of a single piece of sheet material and shaped to attach to the lid about the existing pivot point and is held in place by the plastic pivot plug (20) which normally holds the bin lid to the bind handle (18), the foot pedal member being of a single piece of sheet material and shaped to attach to the existing bin wheel axle without any clamps of fasteners, whereby when the foot pedal is depressed the wire rope pulls the lid hinge member to open the bin lid.
