The device according to the invention, which allows the process application, is made of some solid plates (1) which are fastened inside a casing (2) where a fan (3) is installed, supplied by means of a line straight box (4) from a source of continuous current, the casing (2), having a lower cap (5), has an air evacuation opening provided with slots for the air which is sucked in by the fan (3) through the slots (7).

Description

Complex air-purifying process and device
The invention relates to a saline process and device for the complex mechanical, physico-chemical and bacteriological purification of the environmental air.
Air-purifying processes through porous texture devices for dust filtration, electrostatic devices, devices with air passing through water screens or different chemical solutions are known. There are purification devices with air passing through active carbon layers or active carbon impregnated textures for the retention of different chemical compounds that occur in air. Air-sterilizing processes with UV lamps are also known. All these processes accomplished only separate purification steps, most of the times in complex equipments or used only in special spaces, the air purified through these processes being, most of the times, difficult to breathe, especially by those persons having breathing disorders. In this regard, it has been known for quite a while that using air-conditioning and air-filter-ventilation devices results, in time, in breathing problems in persons that spend more time in those spaces.
The process for complex air-purifying, according to the invention, eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks in that it utilizes plates with compact layer micro- crystallized covering, obtained by the compaction, on solid structures, of the salt micro- crystals produced by micro-crystalline sedimentation according to the patent Ro 112025. The saline plates are placed alternating on a baffled way through which the air is forced passing by means of a fan. The plates may be over-impregnated with different mineral waters containing other salts used in balneary treatments with significant efficient effects in different respiratory diseases (bicarbonates, sulphides, iodides and others).
Applying the process and the devices according to the invention results in the following advantages: a complex air purification is accomplished by: the retention of the fine dust from air due to air passing over the rough surface of the plates the breakage of the cigarette smoke type aerosols due to the electrical loading changes because of the contact with the salt micro-crystals the diminution of the unpleasant odors from the ambient medium the diminution of the bacteria number from air air-ionization changes of air The air purified using the process of the present invention is pleasant to breathe, effect signaled rapidly by the persons with respiratory disorders The saline plates are obtained rapidly, have controlled overall dimensions and layer thickness ensuring a prolonged utilization time of the device The generation and over-impregnation salts are currently used in some specific respiratory disorders
The pressure drop being low, low powered fans are used, allowing the production of very different overall dimensions devices
The fan used, having low powers, may be supplied at underrunning voltage, continuous current, thus eliminating the electro-safety problems, or even at batteries, ensuring thus the complete autonomy of the device The fans used with continuous current allow the air flow-rate adjustment in a large range with a more efficient utilization of the device Allows environmental purification at home, at work, in the car but also the production of devices for large spaces
Saline aerosol loading is low so there occur no corroding problems at prolonged utilizations
The utilization time of the saline-covered plates is high due to low substance losses
It is further given an execution example of the process according to the invention related also to Figure 1 which represents:
Figure 1 - sectioned side view of a device with forced passing of the air through four plates with a compact layer micro-crystallized sedimentation placed in such a way that the air circulates through a baffled way.
Four polystyrene frames having the sizes 105x125 mm and the frame depth of 3x3 mm with an internal grating having the wire section of 1x1 mm and the mesh size of 10x10 mm are executed. Sodium chloride micro-crystals produced by the supersaturated solution recirculation according to the patent Ro 112025 are taken. The micro-crystals are blended with a sodium chloride solution in a recipient in order to obtain a slurry used for covering the polystyrene frame with a layer of about 3 mm. The thus obtained frame is dried over a period of eight hours at 60°C. The saline plates may be over-impregnated with a saturated solution of sodium chloride or with one or more mineral waters balneary used, as for example sulphurous waters, bicarbonate waters, arsenic waters, iodine waters, silicon waters. The impregnations are carried out by plate moistening without dissolving the initial micro-crystalline structure with drying between impregnations at temperatures of 20-50°C, depending on the nature of the salts from the over-impregnation mineral waters. The saline plates (1 ) are fastened in groups of four, alternating, inside the casing (2) where a fan (3) is installed, supplied by means of a line straight box (4) from a source of continuous current of 6-12 V.
The casing has a lower cap (5) and an evacuation opening provided with slots (6). The air is sucked in by the fan through slots, existing in the casing, behind him (7), is pushed through the saline plates in a baffled way and is evacuated through the evacuation opening from the upper part.
The air passed over the saline plates is stripped off the dust, which gradually deposits on the plate's surface, is purified of unpleasant odors, cigarette smoke, the air- ionization is modified, small amounts of saline ions are produced, the air bacteriological content is lowered and the air becomes fresh, pleasant to breathe. From a 25 patient group with different respiratory disorders (bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic unspecific bronchitis ), by using the device in the current habitat, everybody noticed the air quality, the increased easiness in breathing and improvements in their health condition for a utilization period of 10-20 days. The saline plate impregnation with mineral waters used in the treatment of respiratory diseases marked out improvements of the beneficial effects on different types of particular disorders.
