Abstract

A method for automatically configuring an access network is provided. The method includes identifying remote units that are connected to the access network and determining bandwidth requirements for each remote unit. The method also includes transmitting and receiving requests for bandwidth and automatically assigning bandwidth to each of the plurality of remote units.
