Abstract

The present invention concerns a device for cleaning contaminated water, for example, water from industrial plants, whereby the device comprises a closed vessel that demonstrates at its bottom an inlet for the contaminated water and an outlet. According to the invention, the device is characterised by the following properties: an additional inlet pipe is present that is connected to the outlet, by which means a part of the water from the outlet flows through the said inlet pipe and provides a booster effect to the flow of water in the vessel; a first pipe device, which is open at both ends, is placed within the vessel in such a manner that a separating distance arises between the lower part of the pipe and the bottom part of the vessel.

Description

Purifying arrangement
The present invention concerns a device for cleaning contaminated water, for example, water from industrial plants.
Such devices are available, but new solutions to the problem are needed, with the more stringent requirements for cleaning that are imposed today. The present invention is intended to meet this need and to offer a new cleaning device that makes an improved cleaning of contaminated water possible.
One preferred embodiment of the new invention will be described in more detail with reference to the attached drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows a cross-section through the device, which comprises a closed, circularly cylindrical vessel, Fig. 2 shows a view of the device according to Fig. 1 seen along the direction of the arrows II-II, and Fig. 3 shows a cross- section though the device according to Fig. 1, taken along the line III-III.
With reference to Fig. 1 , the new device is shown in this drawing. The device comprises a closed, circularly cylindrical vessel 1 that is provided at the bottom with a first inlet 2 for contaminated water from, for example, an industrial plant. This inlet comprises an inlet pipe that is so directed in the vessel that it deviates towards the inner peripheral part of the vessel. This causes the incoming water to flow around along the inner peripheral part of the vessel. This current effect is reinforced according to the invention by the fact that part of the water current, which leaves the vessel via an outlet 3, is led into a second inlet pipe 4 that is directed in the same direction as the first inlet pipe 2 and provides a booster effect for the water current in the vessel. In this way, heavier contaminant particles are thrown outwards towards the walls of the vessel and are drawn downwards in the vessel by the force of gravity for removal from the vessel though the said outlet 3.
According to this embodiment, a pipe 5 is concentrically arranged inside the vessel. This pipe, which is open at both ends, is thus arranged such that a separating distance arises between its lower end part 6 and the bottom 7 of the vessel. No water current exists inside of this pipe 5, and this causes the contaminants in the water to be separated and to sediment. These sediments thus sink through the pipe 5, are deposited onto the bottom of the vessel 1 and can be taken out of the same through a bottom drainage pipe 8.
Thus the described concentric pipe 5 acts as a first cleaning means. According to the invention, another pipe device 9 is arranged within the concentric pipe 5. This pipe device 9, which is open at both ends, thus stretches from a peripheral part 10 at the upper end of the pipe 5. diagonally downwards through the pipe 5, to an opposite peripheral part 1 1 at the lower end of the pipe 5. This position of the pipe device 9 creates an upper limiting line 12 and a lower limiting line 13 of the pipe device 9 (see Fig. 3).
The advantage of this diagonal position of the pipe device 9 is that contaminants of the water that enter the pipe device 9 will be separated and sediment against that part of the pipe device 9 that lies close to the limiting line 13, while cleaned water ends up above this part.
Thus, a downwards current of contaminant particles along arrow A occurs at the lower limiting line 13, while an upward current of clean water along arrow B occurs at the upper limiting line 12. According to the invention, it is intended that clean water is removed from the pipe device 9 via a hole 14, arranged at approximately the central part of the pipe device 9, which has a connection with a pipe device 15 that leads out from the vessel (See Figs. 1 and 2).
