Abstract

At least one of a first image picked up under a first predetermined condition by an imaging device and a second image picked up thereby under a second condition that is different from the first condition is shifted to adjust the fusion position of an object designated in the first and second images, whereby a three dimensional image can be provided without necessity of precisely moving the camera or necessity of moving the camera and whereby a natural three-dimensional image in which all the imaged does not appear to project from the display screen can be produced, thereby reducing the viewer's feeling of visual fatigue. The first and second conditions of the imaging device are set up by, for example, shifting the imaging device parallel to the imaging plane, pivoting the imaging device, shifting light-gathering optical means, disposing a variable-refracting-angle prism, or intervening/not intervening transparent parallel plates.
