Description
Compact segment thermal insulation especially for heating and cooling piping
The object of the present invention is compact, segment thermal insulation especially for cooling and heating piping.
In the present state of the technology generally known and used are heating and cooling piping thermal insulation cover made of polyurethane foam protected outside by building paper, foil or most often by protective cover made of galvanised steel or aluminium sheet. Those sheets are joined together by riveting.
Known solutions of thermal protection of the piping are not enough difficult to uncontrolled break of the insulation, what happens very often, especially on heating piping in aerial system, in the park, forests, fields, meadow areas and town suburbs as well. Thefts and vandalism connected with this, supported by the possibility of sheet selling, induced considerable material damages connected with repair needs and piping conventional maintenance as well.
The object of the present invention is development of compact, segment thermal insulation especially of heating and cooling piping eliminating possibility of uncontrolled break.
The aim was realised in the solution according to the present invention through compact segment thermal insulation consisted of half segment construction metal protective jacket with fixing lips on the outer surface. Fixing lips are covered in the inseparably manner by insulating layer of thickness bigger then lip height. The most profitable is when height of fixing lips is not bigger than one third of thickens of polyurethane insulating layer. The polyurethane skins with segment metal protective jacket adhere to protected piping surface. In that position, longer on the circumference longitudinal edges of upper half metal jacket protective segment overlap on longitudinal edges of lower half metal protective jacket segment, creating on both sides surfaces of longitudinal inseparably connection of segments of members of metal jacket in the construction. On the front surfaces of individual segments of thermal insulation, in the longitudinal axis, on the one side are stand out protective-connecting bolts, and on the other side are formed internally pockets for pushed in protective-connecting bolts of adjacent thermal insulation segments. On the outer surface of metal protecting jacket, on the contact of front connections of the thermal insulation segments are mounted on both sides inseparably protective
covers additionally connecting individual half segments of metal protective jacket and adjacent thermal insulation segments. On the edges of front connections of individual thermal insulation segments with placed on its protective covers are mounted inseparably protective bands.
In the solution according to the present invention application of the fixing lips on the inside surface of protective metal jacket for connection with polyurethane insulation layer creating increase of metal surface of direct connection giving reliability of joint. At the same time fixing lips is reinforcement of insulation layer, giving it high strength and increasing construction stiffness. It is also important that formation of fixing lips on the height not bigger than one third of insulation layer eliminate ability of thermal bridge creation, protecting full effectiveness of thermal insulation. Overlap joint of upper half protective segment of metal jacket with lower half segment provide gravitational flow of water seepages, excluding possibility of water penetration under contact surface, and in consequence formation of corrosion spots and shortening of life of used thermal protection. Besides, both side overlap joints distribute symmetrically carried strength loads, that has influence on reduction of joined parts cross-sections. Longitudinal joint of individual thermal insulation thorough placed on the front surfaces protective-connecting bolts and pushed in it protective-connecting bolts of adjacent segments, forms shape joint of invisible from outside pin protections. Essential advantage is also use of shape joints for easy montage of thermal insulation segments, beside multi-point pushed-in face joints of segments fully protects against uncontrolled disconnection. Important role playing protecting covers additionally joining in connection nodes of individual construction elements, being supplying protection against uncontrolled insulation dismantling. Unseparable fixing on the outside surface of metal protecting jacket of protecting bands in places of face connections of individual thermal insulation elements with placed on it protective overlaps, seals joining surfaces against water penetration and protects additionally against uncontrolled dismantling.
Used during production of segment thermal insulation set and kind of joints giving them character of 10 locks - protections from which 7 is invisible, and three are aesthetically masked. In such usage of protections is impossible to tear off sheet from the shell, and even there is not possibility to take off shell itself from the piping. Important exploitation advantage are short breakdown repair shutdown times resulted from easy repair and maintenance. Also the cover surface is very smooth and easy in cleaning. For segment production, as insulation layer material were used two component polyurethane foam, environment friendly foamed by carbon dioxide. Shell sortiment with above
mentioned solution range from insulation on DN 200 diameter piping to DN 1200 diameter piping with elbows. To important advantages of solution according to the present invention belongs long corrosion ageing life in all climate conditions and resistance for bacteria, teredos and resistance for dry up and decay. Above mentioned physical properties lasting throughout exploitation period, at least 20 to 30 years. Important advantages are also insignificant water and most of technically used fluid absorbability.
Installations are non-flammable, self-extinguishing, and through cover sealness protected by possible emission of any volatile component to the atmosphere.
Solution according to the present invention could be used for piping of different diameters with different media transported and with different temperatures of media. It could be piping, elbows, valves and gate valves with water and steam medium. Additionally it could be magneto-sludgers, sludgers, hot water tanks, big water tanks or different media required , thermal insulation. There are also possibility of use of insulation according to the present invention on untypical shapes and surfaces like boilers, collectors and tanks. Thermal insulation according to the present invention could be placed on the control units and piping folded in channel systems, aerial systems or in specific conditions like reactive environments e.g. seawater or acid environment. Usage of the thermal insulation according to the present invention in heat centres, group nodes, heat stations production bays beside technical and economical effects gives high aesthetic value.
Object of the present invention in the effect example are presented on the sample drawing, on which on fig.1 are presented axonometric projection of separated half segments of protective metal jacket with visible fixing lips. On fig.2 are presented cross section of the thermal insulation segment. On fig.3 are presented axonometric projection of two segments of thermal insulation placed on the piping, before front joint. On fig.4 are presented axonometric projection of one thermal insulation segment with internal nests, from front side, placed on the piping. On fig.5 are presented axonometric projection of set of thermal insulation segments placed on the piping and joined together by front sides. On fig.6 are presented axonometric projection of set of thermal insulation segments placed on the piping joined together by front sides and additional joined by protective covers. On fig.7 are presented perspective of segment thermal insulation after placing of protective bands in working position.
The compact segment thermal insulation especially of heat and cooling piping according to the present invention consist of protective metal jacket (1) made of galvanised steel sheet or aluminium sheet, of half segment construction in which on the inside surface are fixing lips (2) as on fig.1. Half segments of protective metal jacket (1) from the fixing lips (2) side are by known moulding technology stable filled with insulation layer (3) of thickness where fixing lips (2) height is not bigger than one third of insulation layer (3) thickness, as on fig.2. As insulation layer was used two-component polyurethane foam, creating with metal protective jacket (1) polyurethane shells placed on protected piping (4). After placement on protected piping (4), longer on perimeter longitudinal edges of upper half segment of metal jacket (1) overlap on longitudinal edges of lower segment creating on both sides surfaces were by riveting is made connection of compact segment metal jacket (1). Putted together in this way individual segments of thermal insulation on front surfaces, in longitudinal axis has on one side projected protective-connecting bolts (5), as on fig.3, and on the other side formed internal pockets (6) for pushed in it protective-connecting bolts (5) of adjacent thermal insulation segments, as on fig.4. On the outer surface of the protective metal jacket (1) on the contact of face joints of thermal insulation segments are on both sides mounted unseparably protecting covers (7), joining additionally half segments of metal jacket (1) and adjacent segments of thermal insulation as on fig.6. On the edges of the front joints of individual thermal insulation segments and placed in the same plane protective covers (7) are mounted unseparably protective bands (8), as on the fig.7.
