Abstract

La présente invention concerne un plan pour des réseaux locaux sans fil, qui fournit des extensions multimédias pour des applications à haut débit. Certaines des extensions fournies sont les suivantes : l"en-tête de commande d"accès au support (MAC) est étendue afin de comprendre les composants pour un support multimédia. Les extensions de topologie de réseau comprennent une définition plus étroite du PC, des connexions entre homologues lors du CFP, PC alternatif et PC proxy. Les extensions relatives à la qualité de service (QoS) comprennent la simplification de fonctionnement lors du CFP, le support de flux, la priorité de flux, la synchronisation de transmissions à multiplexage temporel (TDM) au moyen de dispositifs lors du CFP, la gestion de largeur de bande dynamique, la protection de voie par utilisation de codage de commande d"erreur et de paramètres de retransmission négociables. La négociation dynamique de la priorité, de la largeur de bande et des paramètres de retransmission pour chaque flux, de manière séparée, permet la commande du temps d"attente. La présente invention concerne également des extensions qui sont proposées pour le fonctionnement de stations uniquement DCF, afin d"améliorer leur interfonctionnement avec des dispositifs multimédias.
