Abstract
The invention relates to a method and a device for detecting the orientation and/or the moving direction of a moveable object (3), especially a robot, in a motion space (1). A completely or incompletely polarised electromagnetic field having a timely constant polarisation direction which is known or can be detected subsequently with regard to the motion space is generated in the entire motion space of the moveable object or in one or more partial spaces. The angle divergence of a predetermined direction axis of the object or of the moving direction known with regard to a direction axis of the object from the polarisation direction that is known at the respective position or from the projection direction of the field strength vector in the position level or motion level is detected in at least one position level or motion level of the motion space and at the position of the moveable object in a continuous manner, on request or in predetermined intervals for detecting the orientation and/or the current moving direction of the moveable object.
