Abstract

A simple and reproducible method for refolding endostatin is provided. Recombinant endostatin isolated from bacterial inclusion bodies of large scale cultures can be refolded using this method. Refolding is accomplished by contacting endostatin with cyclodextrin in an aqueous medium buffered at a neutral or acidic pH (preferably, a pH of about 4 to about 5). The refolded endostatin has similar biological activity, including anti-proliferation activity against stimulated endothelial cells in culture, as native endostatin.
