Abstract

The invention relates to an object with a coated surface, said coating is either made from a metal, or from a metal coating with a conversion layer, whereby the surface contains a visibly fluorescent or phosphorescent material. The coated surface can contain one or several of the following elements: nickel, zinc, chromium, gold, silver, ruthenium, palladium or copper. Said surface, however, can also contain brass, phosphate, nickel, copper or gold. The coated surface can contain a metal oxide. The metal can be aluminium, titanium or magnesium. In a method for the production of said object, the coating is applied by means of a galvanic or chemical method. The coating can also be applied by anodisation or by vacuum coating. The fluorescent or phosphorescent material is applied in the form of microcapsules in the solution, or is in the form of a pigment and applied as a suspension in the solution.
