Description

EYE BANDAGE WITH A POCKET
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a sleep mask having a receiving function, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a sleep mask having a receiving function, which is used for the purpose of intercepting light thereby to enable a wearer to have a good sleep or protect eyes and is configured in such a way as to receive a charcoal pad or the like capable of giving out a large quantity of far infrared rays and negative ions thereby to quickly relieve eyestrain.
Background Art
Generally, eye patches are divided into protective eye patches which are employed to prevent germs from attacking an eye anymore when the eye is affected with a disease, and interceptive eye patches which are employed to enable a wearer to have a good sleep.
In other words, since most protective eye patches are used for implementing a medical treatment, therapeutic medicament is applied to inner surfaces of the protective eye patches. On the contrary, the interceptive eye patches are used in a manner such that they intercept light to enable a wearer to have a good sleep.
Between the eye patches, the interceptive eye patch, that is, a sleep mask will be exemplarily described in the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 5, there is shown a perspective view illustrating a conventional sleep mask. The conventional sleep mask 50 includes an intercepting cover portion 52 and a pair of loop portions 54. The intercepting cover portion 52 is formed of woven fabric in a manner such that it can cover both eyes of a wearer. The pair of loop portions 54 are stitched to both side ends, respectively, of the intercepting cover portion 52 in a manner such that they can be put on both ears, respectively, of the wearer.
In the conventional sleep mask 50 constructed as mentioned above, by putting the pair of loop portions 54 on both ears of the wearer in a state wherein the intercepting cover portion 52 covers both eyes of the wearer, wearing of the sleep mask 50 is completed. Therefore, the conventional sleep mask 50 is merely used to intercept light thereby to enable the wearer to have a good sleep or protect eyes.
As a consequence, the conventional sleep mask 50 simply serves to intercept light and thereby protect eyes, and performs no particular functions.
Disclosure of the Invention
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in an effort to solve the problems occurring in the related art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a sleep mask having a receiving function, which not only functions to intercept light and protect eyes but also is configured in such a way as to receive a charcoal pad or the like capable of giving out a large quantity of far infrared rays and negative ions thereby to quickly relieve eyestrain and at the same time do good to a wearer's brain.
In order to achieve the above object, according to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a sleep mask comprising: a receiving member defining therein a receiving space; an opening and closing member such as a zipper stitched to the receiving member adjacent to one side end of a d on one surface of the receiving member, in a manner such that a charcoal pad or the like can be inserted into or removed from the receiving space of the receiving member through the opening and closing member; two pairs of bands each pair secured to upper and lower ends, respectively, of the receiving member adjacent to each side end of the receiving member; a pair of fastening pieces each affixed to free ends of each pair of bands secured to the upper and lower ends of the receiving member; and a first pair of Velcro brand hook and loop fastener strips each stitched to one surface of each fastening piece.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the opening and closing member comprises a second pair of Velcro brand hook and loop fastener strips which can be attached to or detached from each other to close or open the receiving space.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The above objects, and other features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent after a reading of the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a construction of a sleep mask having a receiving function in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a state wherein a charcoal pad is inserted into a receiving member in the sleep mask according to the present invention; FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a used status of the sleep mask according to the present invention; FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating an opening and closing section as a variation of an opening and closing member of the sleep mask according to the present invention; and FIG. 5 is a perspective view illustrating a conventional sleep mask.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention Reference will now be made in greater detail to a preferred embodiment of the invention, an example of which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numerals will be used throughout the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a construction of a sleep mask having a receiving function in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention; and FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a state wherein a charcoal pad is inserted into a receiving member in the sleep mask according to the present invention. The sleep mask having a receiving function in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes a receiving member 10, an opening and closing member 12, a pair of fastening pieces 20, two pairs of bands 24 and a first pair of Velcro brand hook and loop fastener strips. The receiving member 10 defines therein a receiving space 15. The opening and closing member 12 such as a zipper is stitched to the receiving member 10 adjacent to one side end of and on one surface of the receiving member 10, in a manner such that a charcoal pad 30 or the like can be inserted into or removed from the receiving space 15 of the receiving member 10 through the opening and closing member 12. Charcoal which has the form of powder, is accommodated in the charcoal pad 30. Each pair of bands 24 are secured to upper and lower ends, respectively, of the receiving member 10 adjacent to each side end of the receiving member 10. Each of the pair of fastening pieces 20 is affixed to free ends of each pair of bands 24 which are secured to the upper and lower ends of the receiving member 10. Each of the first pair of Velcro brand hook and loop fastener strips is stitched to one surface of each fastening piece 20. The charcoal pad 30 is manufactured so that it can be easily inserted into or removed from the receiving space 15 of the receiving member 10. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the charcoal pad 30 is backstitched through a multitude of times in longitudinal and transverse directions in a manner such that the charcoal powder is not lopsidedly distributed in the charcoal pad 30 and thereby the charcoal pad 30 looks as if the charcoal powder is uniformly accommodated in a plurality of pockets. Of course, a person skilled in the art will readily recognize that suitable attaching means such as snap fasteners or the like can be used in place of the first pair of Velcro brand hook and loop fastener strips.
FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a used status of the sleep mask according to the present invention. In the sleep mask constructed as mentioned above, the zipper constituting the opening and closing member 12 which is stitched to the receiving member 10 adjacent to the one side end of and on the one surface of the receiving member 10, is first opened. Then, after the charcoal pad 30 (see FIG. 1) in which charcoal powder is accommodated, is inserted into the receiving space 15 of the receiving member 10, the zipper serving as the opening and closing member 12 is closed again.
Thereupon, the first pair of Velcro brand hook and loop fastener strips stitched to one surfaces of the pair of fastening pieces 20 which are affixed to the free ends of the two pairs of bands 24 which are secured to the upper and lower ends of the receiving member 10 adjacent to both side ends of the receiving member 10, are attached to each other behind the head of a wearer.
Thus, as a large quantity of far infrared rays and negative ions which are given out from the charcoal pad 30 inserted into the receiving space 15 of the receiving member 10, exert influence on the orbital bone which surrounds the eyeball and the crystalline lens of the wearer and thereby smoothes blood circulation, eyestrain of the wearer can be quickly relieved. Moreover, as the large quantity of far infrared rays and negative ions also exert influence on the wearer's brain, the brain of the wearer can feel refreshed.
Therefore, due to the fact that the sleep mask according to the present invention can quickly relieve eyestrain of a person who is ready to have a sleep or a long-distance driver, in particular, a professional such as a computer specialist, an architectural designer, and so forth, it is possible to accomplish the maximum of efficiency.
FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating an opening and closing section as a variation of an opening and closing member of the sleep mask according to the present invention. In this variation, the zipper which is stitched to the one surface of the receiving member 10 to serve as the opening and closing member 12, is not provided, and instead, an opening and closing section 120 is placed in the receiving member 10 in a manner such that the charcoal p. d 30 can be inserted into and removed from the receiving space 15 of the receiving member 10 through the opening and closing section 120. The opening and closing section 120 comprises a second pair of Velcro brand hook and loop fastener strips which can be attached to or detached from each other to close or open the receiving space 15 of the receiving member 10.
Hence, instead of stitching, to the receiving member 10, the zipper or the like which serves as the separate opening and closing member 12, by forming the opening and closing section 120 upon stitching of the receiving member 10, a structure for allowing the charcoal pad 30 to be inserted into and removed form the receiving space 15 of the receiving member 10 can be simplified, and thereby, a manufacturing cost can be reduced.
Industrial Applicability
As a result, the sleep mask having a receiving function according to the present invention provides advantages in that, since the sleep mask is used to not only intercept light but also receive a charcoal pad or the like capable of giving out a large quantity of far infrared rays and negative ions, eyes of a wearer can be protected and, at the same time, eyestrain can be quickly relieved. Also, because the far infrared rays which are given out from the charcoal pad, do good to a wearer' s brain, the brain of the wearer can feel refreshed.
