SAFETY SLIDING PROTECTOR FOR BASEBALL PLAYER
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a safety sliding protector for a baseball player, and more particularly, to a safety sliding protector for a baseball player, which prevents foreign substance, such as soil of the field, from entering inside the belt of a uniform when a running baseball player headfirst slides, or a fielding baseball player slides to catch a ball. Background Art Generally, when a baseball player wears a uniform and plays baseball, sliding causes rare problems if a fielding pitcher throws a ball, or an outfielder plays on the outfield of the lawn or artificial lawn. However, if a runner steals a base, or a baseman fields on the soil ground, or particularly if a runner headfirst slides, soil on the field enters into the pants through the lower abdominal region around the belt by a sliding motion, because the lower part of the jersey is inserted into the pants. If soil entered into the pants as this, it is inconvenient and time-consuming to remove the soil, and therefore a runner frequently requests an umpire for a time-out. As a result, the baseball game is delayed and baseball players suffers inconveniences.
Disclosure of the Invention
To solve the above problems, it is an objective of the present invention to provide a safety sliding protector for a baseball player, which prevents foreign substance, such as soil of the field, from entering inside the belt of a uniform when a running baseball player headfirst slides, or a fielding baseball player slides to catch a ball.
To accomplish the above object of the present invention, there is provided a safety sliding protector for a baseball player having a blocking member which elasticaUy extends and covers the abdominal part of the baseball player; a combining member which extends from the blocking member, and extends the blocking member on the back waist part of the
baseball player so that the abdominal part of the baseball player can be tightly fastened; and a bonding member which is formed on the contacting part of the combining member and is for firmly combining the combining member, in which the safety sliding protector can be selectively worn on the waist to prevent foreign substance from entering inside a uniform by a sliding motion when a runner steals a base or a fielder fields in a baseball game.
It is preferable that the combining member is male and female velcro™ formed on the whole surface of the combining member. It is preferable that the blocking member is a band made of elasticaUy extensible fiber material.

Best mode for carrying out the Invention
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings. The present invention is not restricted to the following embodiments, and many variations are possible within the spirit and scope of the present invention. The embodiments of the present invention are provided in order to more completely explain the present invention to anyone skilled in the art. FIG. 1 is a brief perspective view of a safety sliding protector for a baseball player according to a preferable embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a front view of a using state in which the safety sliding
protector of FIG. 1 is worn on the uniform, FIG. 3 is a side view of a using state in which the safety sliding protector of FIG. 1 is worn on the uniform, and FIG. 4 is a sectional view along the IV-IV line of FIG. 3.
As shown in FIGS. 1 through 4, the safety sliding protector according to the present embodiment can be selectively worn on the waist to prevent foreign substance, such as soil, from entering inside the uniform, particularly inside the pants of the uniform by a sliding when a runner steals a base or a fielder fields. For this, the safety sliding protector according to the present embodiment 10 has a blocking member 20, which can be elasticaUy extended, a combining member 30, which extends from both ends of the blocking member 20, and a pair of bonding members 40, which are installed in the combining member 30.
The blocking member 20, as shown in FIG. 4, has a predetermined width (W) so that the with a baseball player wearing the jersey and pants of a uniform, abdominal part 22 including the buckle part 28 of the belt of the baseball player can be covered. Also, it is preferable that the blocking member 20 is made of elasticaUy extensible material, for example, made of elastic spandex, or the blocking member 20 is a band which is made in the form of a rubber band. The blocking member 20 is extended by its own elasticity, but it can prevent soil of the field from entering into the abdominal part of the baseball player by a sliding motion because the blocking member 20 solidly sticks to the abdominal part of the baseball player by its elasticity. Also, since the blocking member 20 is thin and light, the blocking member 20 does not prevents a runner's stealing a base or a fielder's fielding.
As shown in FIG. 3, the combining member 30 extends from both sides of the blocking member 20 and extends the blocking member 20. The combining member 30 is for making the blocking member 20 on the abdominal part of the baseball playertightly fastened by tightening from the back waist of the baseball player, and is made of fiber material. Preferably, the width of the combining member 30 is the same as the width of the blocking member 30.
Each of the bonding members 40 is installed on the whole surface of an end of a combining member 30 which can contact to the surface of the other end of the combining member 30. The bonding member 40 can be made, for example, in the form of a hook button (not shown), but it is preferable that in the present embodiment, a male velcro™ is formed on one entire surface of the combining member 30 and a female velcro™ is formed on the other entire surface of the combining member 30.
The operation of the safety sliding protector for a baseball player formed as described above will now be explained. If during a baseball game a runner steals a base or a fielder fields, the player tightly wears the safety sliding protector 10 on the waist. If the protector is worn this way, even when the player tries to steal a base with a headfirst sliding, or the fielder slides into the ground for a sliding catch and his abdominal part contacts soil and so on, soil and so on do not enter into inside the pants 26 of the uniform because the blocking member 20 firmly protects the abdominal part 22.
Industrial Applicability
As described above, the safety sliding protector according to the present invention has the following effects.
First, by selectively wearing the protector, in which an elastic blocking member, a combining member extending from the blocking member, and a pair of bonding members installed on the combining member are integrally formed, on the waist of a baseball player, the protector can prevent foreign substance such as soil from entering inside the uniform when the baseball player slides into the ground, for example, headfirst slides.
Second, since the time for removing foreign substance entered inside the uniform through a sliding motion can be reduced, delay in playing baseball can be prevented.
Third, the abdominal part of a uniform can be kept clean and the belt can be protected, which gives accompanying effects.
Fourth, by raising the combining strength of the supporter, the protector can protect the waist of a baseball player.
