Abstract

Disclosed is a method for detecting changes in the prostate of dogs. The inventive method is characterised by the following steps: collecting a urinary specimen, e.g. a urinary sample or a sample of a prostatic tissue or a semen sample; determining the content of the prostate-specific protein (PSP) in the urogenital specimen and comparing the detected PSP content with at least one PSP reference value. The invention also relates to a kit for carrying out said method. Immunological means are preferably used.
