Abstract

The present invention describes a video system for real-time video broadcasting through Internet. The discussed system may include three parts: real-time encoding part, video program scheduling part and client-session handling part. The real-time encoding part in this system communicates with various types of encoder cards and gets video/audio data for the video browsers (clients or sessions). The video program scheduler in this system helps the Internet real-time video providers efficiently arrange video programs and automatically start and stop the programs at the scheduled time. At the same time, the scheduler can also communicate with other video servers such as Video-On-Demand servers and proxy servers and record the broadcast programs. The client-session handling part, which is also called real-time session manger in the system, efficiently arranges each client that is connected to the system so that every connection gets the video data on time.
