Description

A method and system for communication of data & information
dynamically at any place and time.
Technical Field
This invention in general relates to the field of data and information communication technology In particular the invention relates to a situation wherein the data and information is communicated dynamically This invention relates to accessing information and data any time from different locations Accordingly the invention envisages a new concept for communication of information and data It further includes a system for communication of information and data any- where in the world
Background Art:
It is well known fact that the world keeps shrinking to a smaller "global village" There is a virtual explosion of all sorts of data - whether it is information like news, Stocks or it is entertainment like Music or it is GIS
Such data as herein mentioned though organised, however do have the following
constraints:
• They are available only through a very restricted media Like a cassette or CD
• Data like "News" broadcasted over TV / Radio is time bound as they are
telecasted or broadcasted periodically So time constraints are applicable • Even if one can hear News while driving a car, it demands "Attention Span" when crucial items are on air It may not be possible to pay full attention while driving, hence resultant loss of crucial data, which may not repeat, thus leading to missed opportunities • Let us take for example, the entertainment aspect of Music through CDs CDs comes with restriction of limited choice thus forcing the listener with limited choice and added to it the genuinity aspect of information Besides limited mobility as multiple CDs are not available
• If one look at GIS, the system is still not adaptable to dynamically varying conditions Updating also is restricted because of the data format and positioning criticalities exists in the system
• Music and data available in various formats like CDs or on the Internet like the MP3, MPEG formats were prior restricted to its use, and it needs constant up-gradation of information so as to offer a versatility of choice to the user and needs constant time consuming searches by the user It is also restricted to only this medium
It is envisaged that in the transformed World, these limitations are overcome with advent of this new technology, new technique and a novel system.
Accordingly salient features of this invention are as follows
• As an endeavor, this system, which is a user-friendly system, removes all the above constraints
• Wherever one is, the information like news, airlines reservation, sports, weather, stocks, currency, traffic are available on line, with the flexibility of capsuling them and with facility of replaying them at a one's own time and will • Imagine that one likes to hear different patterns of songs from various CDs
No CD may give this pattern the way the user would like it to be But it is going to be possible All by just user-friendly software programming Not only that but also the entire world of music will be waiting to be downloaded on to one's hard disk as you like From an Internet Library with high portability the information and data is accessible
• With flexibility to change and reformat the data, there is no need to worry on whether the data is truly updated in GIS
Accordingly the various objectives of the invention are as follows
• The primary object of the invention is to construct a system, which makes effective use of the high bandwidth transmission, significant storage medium like Hard discs in a mobile and affordable way
• Another object of the invention is to construct a system which has increased convenience of listening to Music / News / Information / Favourite items at the user's convenience • Another object of the invention is to construct a system, which has direct access to a global information system for reservations, tickets status and host of, such useful information's
• Further objects of the invention will be apparent from the ensuing description A new paradigm concept according to the invention is enumerated as under
• The concept is very simple Its simplicity is explained in detail in the following description
• It aims the user's FIRST flexibility to have his own favourites into his system amidst the Ocean of data in front of him
• It aims to achieve the SECOND flexibility of creating his defined databank One simply pushes a button and asks for his favourite The favourite comes to him through the link • It aims to achieve the THIRD flexibility to him when he is travelling in a car One simply logs in to his favourite wherever he is
• Furthering it, the invention extrapolates this concept to extend to any type of 75 information, Music or GIS or even Advertisements in between
The invention includes the following method of communication of data and information dynamically
The novel method comprises a Making available all the data and information in a digitised form at a centrally 80 located resource centre b Transmitting the data information to the end user c Receiving the data and information by the end user d Storing the data and information by the end user e Accessing the data and information by the end user at any place and at any
85 time dynamically
The scope of the availability of information and data covers 3 segments a Voice Information News, Stocks, and Currencies b Channels Music, Advertisement c Information GIS
90
This concept when implemented improves the World's working style in the following manner
Present World Envisaged Future Changes
Data like NEWS, Stocks etc , Can be Data and transmission can be listened only at the transmission time accessed/listened at any time
The present day gadgets known in the art do receive data like News but they are 1 In analog form 2 They are not stored
Whereas the system incorporating the concept proposed has
1 The data in digital form
2 The data is stored in the Receiver's local memory.
This envisages opening the infinite possibility to access/listen to the data and information anytime .
STATEMENT OF DRAWINGS
The invention is described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which figure 1 shows the schematic diagram of the central system according to the invention and figure 2 shows the schematic diagram of the user's system. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO DRAWINGS ACCOMPANYING THE SPECIFICATION
The system for communication of information and data comprises mainly a central system (CS), which transmit the required information and a user system (US), which receives the information and data at the request of the user The central system comprises an information system (IS) with an analogue/digital (A/D) converter (7) The information system preferably consists of a library of compact discs (3), library of audio / videotapes (4), advertisement studio (5), news production studio (6). The output from the A/D converter (7) and that from library of compact discs (3) are
115 provided to a server (SE). The server (SE) comprises a library of data (2), a digital data collector (8), a data organizer (9) and a data stacker (10). A user identifier (1) is also provided wit the server (SE), which identifies the password of a user receiver and allow access to the information transmitted by the central system (CS). The data in the digital collector (8) is organized by the data organizer (9) in accordance with a
120 prescribed program and then stacked by the data stacker (10) in a prescribed manner. The stacked data from the server (SE) is provided to a bit-stream generator (12) through an encoder (11).
The bit-stream of data generated by the bit-stream generator (12) is multiplexed by a multiplexer (13) and compressed by a data compressor (14). The compressed data
125 from data compressor (14) is fed to a modulator (15) for modulating the transmitted signal by a digital transmitter (16) provided with a transmitting antenna (17). The user system (US) comprises a digital receiver (19) with an antenna (18) for receiving the signal transmitted by the digital transmitter (16). The signals received are decoded by a decoder (20), decompressed by decompressor (21) and stored in a local memory
130 (22).
A user function selector (23) selects the required information such as news, weather data, music and general information through an output medium selector (24) to respective output media such as digital output media (27) and analogue output media (26). The analogue output media (26) receives the information from output medium
135 selector (24) through a digital I analogue (D/A) converter (25). Each user receiver will have a unique identity for identification by the central system (CS). The system according to the invention is quire versatile It can be used with increased convenience of listening to music, news and other favourite items at the users choice 140 Anytime the user can listen to news or any of his favourite programs It can be effectively used with a global information system The system also provides the used with his own data bank, which is updated continuously
The user can use the system at home or while travelling Without actually possessing 145 any compact disc he can avail a host of compact discs maintained or accessed by the central system (CS)
Advantages of the invention
1 The user can access data and information of his choice dynamically 50 from the ocean of data availability
2 The system is flexible such that the user can create his own data bank
It will be understood that the foregoing description is only illustrative of the present invention and it is not intended that the invention be limited thereto Many other 55 specific embodiments of the present invention will be apparent to one skilled in the art from the foregoing disclosure All substitution, alterations and modification of the present invention, which come within the scope of the following claims, are to which the present invention is readily susceptible without departing from the spirit of the
invention 60
