Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betrieb eines GSM-Mobilfunksystem, bei dem mindestens ein Sender (S), der einem Referenzzeitgenerator zugeordnet ist, ein Signal (SUTC) ausstrahlt, das Informationen über eine Referenzzeit enthält. Das die Informationen über die Referenzzeit enthaltende Signal (SUTC) wird von den Basisstationen (BS) empfangen. Anschließend synchronisiert jede Basisstation (BS) Zeitlagen von Kommunikationskanälen (CCH), die über eine Funkschnittstelle zwischen der jeweiligen Basisstation (BS) und zugeordneten Teilnehmerstationen (MS) bereitgestellt werden, unter Bezugnahme auf die Referenzzeit.
