Abstract
The present invention relates to a pair of functional pants for working the muscles of a user's lower body by means of using elastic members fixed onto the pair of pants. More particularly, the present invention relates to a functional pair of pants, which can help to strengthen the muscles of the lower body of a user in efficient manner during various physical exercises using legs, the pants being fitted with a device comprising elastic members connected with a number of fastening members, which latter, made capable of fastening and unfastening with ease, are attached to both sides of the pair of pants at certain vertical intervals; a number of connection links, which hold up the elastic members connected horizontally so that they may not sag; link connection bands which connect the connection links at certain intervals; anti-sagging bands which prevent downward sagging of the connection links by means of respectively anchoring both the terminals of the anti-sagging bands to both sides of the upper portion of the connection links, wherein the anti-sagging bands are connected to the link connection bands at the upper-most portion of the pants; and cords for a foothold at both sides of the lower terminal portions of the pair of pants.
Description
FUNCTIONAL SUIT FOR WORKING THE MUSCLES OF THE LOWER BODY
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a functional suit for working the muscles of the lower body through the use of rubber bands fixed on a pair of pants, and more particularly to a pair of pants, wherein, rubber bands are placed horizontally at vertical intervals of certain length in-between, so that the bands, made to pass through the connection rings hanging on an anti- sagging band between the pair of pants and also through the rings of fastening members on both outward sides of the pants, whereby to help building up the strength of the muscles especially of a user's lower body by virtue of the elastic resistance of the bands while he or she. in such pants. does exercises of various types.
BACKGROUND ART
By now it has been known that people perform well in a well- balanced posture, improving the records a good deal, too, in whatever sports or games they may choose to play, say. track-and-field, such other entertainment sports as soccer, skating, or even such martial arts as taekwondo. only after they have sufficiently cultivated strength of particular muscles as required for these types of sports or exercises, and therefore amateurs as well as professional players in each sport spend their time cultivating the strength of muscles in the similar ways.
That is, an athlete for the purpose of strengthening his lower body, practices running dragging a big automobile tire behind, fights the drag of
another person pulling a rope tied on their waist while running forward, climbs rugged hills bearing a sand bag on their shoulders, runs up or down steep flights of stairs, or rushes through sandy beach, but exercises of these sorts do not merely require assistants but invariably faces difficulty in securing available space. Often the effects, compared with the actual amount of exercise, are not found quite satisfactory at that.
At times, some do up a pair of puttees with sand or lead wrapped inside, or wear a vest also with lead padded inside when doing hard exercise, but exercise as such is shown not to bring forth as much effects of strengthening the muscles of the legs as would be desired, while at times possibly overburdening the joints of the legs or causing injuries.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
The present invention has been worked out in order to solve such problems inherent in the conventional methods of exercise and bring about high efficiency instead. It consists in providing a functional suit, which, by means of the rubber bands passed horizontally at intervals, enable one wearing it to practice running or training in various other movements of the lower limbs and feet, taking the best advantage of the elastic resistance of the rubber bands, while obtaining the maximum effect in building up the muscles of the lower body as required in particular types of exercise or sports. Exercise wearing such pants is possible at whatever place one prefers.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
For attainment of such effects as have been described above, the present invention provides a pair of pants, which has rubber bands
horizontally passing through connection rings arranged at vertical intervals, the connection rings being fixed between the pair of pants, while there also are various forms of fastening devices placed on both outward sides of the pants so that the rubber bands going through them can be properly held up. Below, the present invention is described in detail, the attached drawings being referred to at need.
Fig. 1 is a general perspective view of a functional suit according to the present invention along with three detailed perspective views of the main parts. As illustrated in the drawings, the pants 1 have fitted a number of fastening members 6a of a press button type, each to be fastened or unfastened by a press button 5, fitted along either outward side of the pants, at certain vertical intervals; rubber bands 4 to run through each press-button type fastening members 6a; a number of connection members, which each hold the rubber bands 4 up, not to sag downwards, yet easily to be released at will; ring connection bands 3' to suspend the connection members at certain intervals; an anti-sagging band 3, which, connected at its upper ends with each connection ring 2a fixed on either outward side of the pants 1, hold the ring connection band 3' in suspense lest it should fall; and foothold bands 7 fixed on the lowermost parts of the pants.
Here the connection members, as shown in the enlarged drawings of Fig. 1. may be shaped like connection rings b, while the foothold bands, too, may be formed like 7", fitted on the inside of each pant's end as shown in an enlarged drawing in Fig. 1. Fig. 2 illustrates how an auxiliary member 8 and a connection ring
2b are connected, and it will be seen, as illustrated, that a fastening section 2' formed on the upper end of a connection ring 2b in the shape of an arrowhead is pushed on both sides into a middle groove 2*' formed in the ring auxiliary
member 8 and, when the pushing stops, both ends of the ring auxiliary member 8 of the connection ring 2b are caught on the hanger ledge 8; formed on the inside of the ring auxiliary member 8 so that the connection ring 2b is connected tightly to the ring auxiliary member 8. while release of the connection ring 2b is performed the other way around.
Figs. 3a and 3 b show how a fastening member 6b of a type of ring or another 6c of a Velcro type, can each be applied to the present invention instead of the press-button type fastening member 6a.
There, the ring-type fastening member 6b is either connected or released by way of a screw 6'. fixed in a body along the seam line on the side of the pants 1, while the Velcro-type fastening member 6c is, as shown in Fig.
3b, only a variety using a velcro device instead of the press-button 5 of the fastening member 6a.
Fig. 4 is an illustration of another embodiment example of a functional suit according to the present invention.
As illustrated in the drawing, the structure is the same as in Figs. 1. 3a and 3b. except that the two rubber bands 4' are connected to either of the connection rings 2b shown in Fig. 2 or a connection ring 2c opening or shutting on the one side, and are hanging on each of the pair of pants.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT INVENTION
Actual use of an embodiment of the present invention is described in detail below. When a person, wearing such functional suit equipped with rubber bands 4, 4", runs or exercises in movements of kicking, side-kicking, etc., the rubber bands extend to an extent but with an increasing resistance, restraining his free movements, thus it causes him to make exertions and it in this way
leads to strengthen the muscles of his lower body. If he skates, runs up and down flights of stairs, or through the sand beach, he will be rewarded with better effects.
According to the physical conditions of an exerciser or by his choice, the positions of the rubber bands 4, 4' can be changed to suit him. The number of rubber bands 4, 4" can also be modified so that the amount of exercise can be increased or decreased.
Fig. 5 illustrates an instance of the rubber bands 4 applied to an exercise apparatus 20, and, as shown in the drawing, it is possible to tie the rubber bands 22. 22' suspended on the support poles 21, 21 * on the exercise apparatus 20 in the back with the functional suit, whereby to practice running to strengthen the muscles of the lower body.
In the functional suit of the present invention, anti-sagging bands 3,
3", the connection rings 2b, 2c. and the rubber bands 4, 4* tied thereto are all so structured that they may be separated from each other, and therefore it is possible to remove all these from the pants at will, and this way the pants can be worn as ordinary pants, too, if desired.
Made for the above-the purposes and in the above structure, the functional suit of the present invention can, with ease, be worn and fitted for any particular kind of physical exercise and also for any variety of way to secure the maximal effects in strengthening the muscles to fit any types of sports.
