BAG WITH SECURITY FEATURE
Technical Field
The present invention relates, in general, to a bag with a security feature and, more particularly, to a bag with a security feature accomplished by a security mechanism designed to directly generate an alarm sound when the bag is cut by a thief or a pickpocket, thus allowing the owner of the bag to effectively protect the contents of the bag from the thief or pickpocket.
Background Art
In crowded areas, such as within busy subway trains or busy buses, people sometimes have their pockets picked or bags stolen. That is, thieves or pickpockets within crowded areas cut handbags, shoulder bags or knapsacks of people with sharp knives to form appropriate openings on the bags and steal the contents of the bags through the openings. However, it is very difficult for people in crowded areas to recognize such pocket-picking or theft, or to prevent the contents of their bags from being stolen by thieves or pickpockets. It is thus necessary to provide a means for generating an alarm sound when a bag is cut by a thief or a pickpocket, thus allowing the owner of the bag to effectively protect the contents of the bag from the thief or pickpocket.
Disclosure of the Invention
Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a bag with a security feature, which has a security mechanism designed to directly generate an alarm sound when the bag is cut by a thief or a pickpocket,
thus allowing the owner of the bag to effectively protect the contents of the bag from the thief or pickpocket.
In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a bag with a security feature, comprising a sensory cable, which is fabricated into a net structure having a predetermined mesh and is attached to the interior surface of a bag body, and is used for detecting a cutting of the bag when the sensory cable is cut along with the bag body; and an alarm unit fixedly installed at a desired position within the bag and comprising a battery supplying electricity to the sensory cable, a data memory storing alarm sound data therein, an alarm speaker outputting alarm sound from the data memory, and a circuit breakage sensing means electrically connected to said battery, memory and speaker so as to output a predetermined alarm sound from the memory through the speaker in the case of an unexpected cutting of the sensory cable.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The above and other objects, features and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing the construction of a security mechanism installed in a bag in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
Fig. 2 is a partially broken perspective view showing the structure and position of a sensory cable provided on the interior surface of the bag according to the present invention; and
Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing an operation of an alarm unit for outputting a predetermined alarm sound in the case of an unexpected cutting of the sensory cable.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
Reference now should be made to the drawings, in which the same reference numerals are used throughout the different drawings to designate the same or similar components. Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing the construction of a security mechanism installed in a bag in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 2 is a partially broken perspective view showing the structure and position of a sensory cable provided on the interior surface of the bag according to the present invention. Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing the operation of an alarm unit for outputting a predetermined alarm sound in the case of an unexpected cutting of the sensory cable.
As shown in Figs. 1 to 3, the bag 10 according to the present invention is provided with a security mechanism designed to directly generate an alarm sound when the bag 10 is cut by a thief or a pickpocket, thus allowing the owner of the bag 10 to effectively protect the contents of the bag from the thief or pickpocket. The security mechanism of the present invention may be adapted to handbags, shoulder bags or knapsacks according to user's preference. This security mechanism consists of a sensory cable 11 and an alarm unit 12, which are fixedly installed within the bag 10. The sensory cable 11 is fabricated into a net structure having a predetermined mesh and is attached to the interior surface of the bag 10.
The alarm unit 12 has a small-sized circuit board set within a case. This alarm unit 12 consists of a battery 12a, a data memory 12b, an alarm speaker 12c, and a circuit breakage sensing means 12d. In the alarm unit 12, the battery 12a is a conventional small-capacity battery typically used in electronic appliances and is installed in a battery cartridge of the alarm unit 12, contact with designated terminals of the cartridge. The data memory 12b is a small-sized integrated circuit storing alarm sound data therein. The alarm speaker 12c outputs alarm sound from the data memory 12b when the
sensory cable 11 is cut. The circuit breakage sensing means 12d is a relay or a transistor and is electrically connected to the battery 12a, memory 12b and speaker 12c so as to activate the alarm unit 12 and output a predetermined alarm sound from the memory 12b through the speaker 12c in the case of an unexpected cutting of the sensory cable 11.
In the drawings, the reference numeral 13 denotes a knife used for cutting the bag.
When a thief or a pickpocket cuts the bag 10 with a knife 13, the sensory cable 11 installed in the bag 10 is also cut. In such case, the circuit breakage sensing means 12d of the alarm unit 12 senses the cutting of the sensory cable 11 and activates the alarm unit 12, thus outputting a predetermined alarm sound from the memory 12b through the speaker 12c and allowing the owner of the bag 10 and those around the owner to recognize the unauthorized cutting of the bag 10. It is thus possible for the owner of the bag 10 to protect the contents of the bag 10 from the thief or pickpocket, particularly in a crowded area.
Industrial Applicability
As described above, the present invention provides a bag with a security feature. The security feature of the bag according to this invention is accomplished by a security mechanism designed to directly generate an alarm sound when a sensory cable is cut along with the bag body by a thief or a pickpocket, thus allowing the owner of the bag to effectively protect the contents of the bag from the thief or pickpocket.
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
